Plenty of examples and a solid method.
I’m still only on the samba section, but the rest of the book looks as thorough as this first section is.I can say this about the first section: there are enough hand variations and fills that by the time you get all of them solid and work them interchangeably, you will likely have the samba ostinato committed to your muscle memory in your feet, enabling you to work the hands variations around the kit on top of it.I was turned on to this book by having bought Jason Bittner’s metal DVD, where he mentions it.

great for different styles
If you love different styles of music, and fusion of course this book will works great for you. It's very useful, coz bring you into different exercises than common books.you will learn some basic grooves and also how to evolve from the basic to more advance ideas in different specific steps.Include stickings combination over ostinatos, different time signature, also a nice chapter about shuffles and worlds rhythms like bombe, and many different idea on how embellish them.it looks easy at first but in my opinion if you try to play the exercises you'll feel a little bit stuck, coz the book put you to work with the whole body at all...If you've met Skip in person you'll buy it with close eyes.If you don't i guarantee you that he's an unbelievable teacher and player.take care and have fun with this great book.
