Easy install, durable metal, foolproof to use, toddlers will hate them.
“Oh he’ll never be able to get in there with the door latched!!” (Kid gets a long toy, flips open the hook latch, and gets in)“Well these door handle covers will keep him out” (Kid pulls cover off, gets in the room)“Let’s try these GlideLok things!! Its too high up for you to reach to even mess with!” (Kid glares at GlideLok, his nemesis and gatekeeper, protector of breakables, jailer of fun and recklessness)I give GlideLok 5 stars, my son gives GlideLok no stars 😂These METAL GlideLok latches are really great. My husband installed them (3 latches) in under 10 minutes total. Our house was built in 1780 and has historic doors that have been painted over a few times. The gaps between the top door edge and the door frame vary from squeaking on one door to a fat gap on another. We hand sanded the top of one door just a tiny bit and GlideLok fit perfectly!GlideLok’s instructions are VERY helpful and intuitive. They are in American English, not a weird translation. The whole set is made of metal, which is important when making something that’s supposed to keep a door shut. There have been times when one of us has just gone to open the door and go through forgetting the GlideLok, and it held up to it fine. If it were made of plastic it would have definitely broken!!This lock requires a screw to be screwed into the top of the doorframe. There is a plastic sleeve that fits over this screw. I like this feature, it makes the lock slide smoothly as well as look neat.I’ve had these locks in place for a couple months now and we use them constantly. My son likes to run out of the house into the yard, but doesn’t always wait for someone to come with him. (He also always doesn’t wait for shoes. Or clothes). We have GlideLoks on the doors going from the main living area into the kitchen, hall and the rest of the house, so we are constantly locking and unlocking them. They keep my son safe and where he should be! There is no damage to the doors. We followed the directions that says to use a white crayon (or candle) to lubricate the tops of the doors if they were snug, but we just did all the doors. They never squeak. All in all these genuine GlideLok latches are exactly what I needed. Don’t buy the crappy plastic knockoff ones!! These locks have been banged around quite a bit by my family and they still work perfectly and look great, too.Highly recommended products for parents!!

I should’ve bought this sooner
This is super easy to install. I did it without my husbands help ladies. The instructions are easy to follow but the video here on Amazon makes it so easy to know what your doing. It took me less than 5 minutes to install all three. They work like a charm. The only tip I would add to the instructions is to install this towards the end of the door where it opens (see photo). It gives it a little more stability to keep larger kids from pushing till it breaks.I got these to keep my 6yo out of certain rooms in the house. This works perfectly and I am going to have to buy another one.

Easy to install, effective, and won't lock you in!
We needed a solution for childproofing our pantry door, and after researching lots of different options I came to realize that there was no one perfect solution. The door itself has a rotating handle (as opposed to a door knob) on both the inside and the outside, and there are several products that will lock the door by preventing this handle from rotating. The problem with those products is that the inside and outside door handles rotate together, so blocking one from rotating will block both of them. This means that if you go into the pantry, the door closes behind you, and the mechanism activates (or your toddler activates it), you could be locked inside. I have read several accounts of this scenario happening, including in the reviews for those products. What I like about THIS lock is that it can be activated (or deactivated) from either side of the door. Installation couldn't be much easier: you attach a peg to the upper door frame with a single screw, then place the sliding mechanism on the top of the door. That's it.There are, however, a couple of challenges:1) The lock may not slide easily along the top of your door. If that's the case, take a candle (a votive or something) and rub it along the section of the slider that rests on top of the door, and that should help it slide more easily.2) Depending on the height of your door, the lock may be too high for you to reach it. Fortunately the slider has a hole where you can attach a string and use that to pull the slider back and forth. Unfortunately this means you'll have a string hanging down from the top of the door frame, which sort of negates the otherwise subtle appearance of this lock, but sometimes that's the price of childproofing.3) Depending on how solid the door is, your child may be able to force it open if he/she pushes hard enough on it and breaks the lock mechanism. Worse still, a finger could get injured. Our pantry door is about 8' tall and lightweight, so if our daughter pushed really hard on it the door would "twist" as the lower part moved but the upper part didn't. If the lower part moved enough to clear the door frame and she got a finger in the gap, her finger could get injured from the door springing back into place. So yet again, childproofing doesn't substitute for parental guidance and supervision!Bottom line: Despite a few challenges, this lock may be the best way to childproof certain doors, especially because it virtually eliminates the risk of you (or someone else) being locked inside.

These are good!
The media could not be loaded. These locks are the perfect solution if you have cats that can open doors. We have been locking the doors and having to unlock every time we went in and out of our bedroom and a couple other rooms. My husband was concerned that the lock was wearing out on our bedroom door because we were having more and more trouble unlocking it so I searched for some solutions and found these slide locks. It only took a very few short minutes to install each of the three in the pack I ordered.I am 5‘3“ and have to put forth a little more effort to reach and slide at the top of our standard doors, but it’s much better than having to deal with locking and unlocking the doors. I might look for a wand to make it easier.

Easy Child proof lock
Good lord, the easiest child proof lock you can ever get. The wife and I have tried alot of child locks. The door nob locks, door latch gizmos etc. Incredibly simple 1 screw, boom done. For the MIL who has arthritis, she just has to slap it to lock and unlock. For the short people.... beware... make sure you can touch the top of the door lol.10 / 10 will be getting more when needed

Great product
Easy to install with just one screw. We purchased this for our teenage boy’s room so that he can lock it when he wants, and we can also open the door when we wants without having to use a key. Highly recommend.
