Great little flashlight with plenty of power
This flashlight is powerful and easily recharged. It also offers you different modes including various flashing speeds but, to be honest, all I ever need it for is to light up something I'm working on. I was initially frustrated in trying to turn it off because it seemed like I had to press that #%$^!! button six times to get it to shut off. But eventually someone told me all you have to do is press and hold the off button for two seconds. With that information, this has become one of my favorite flashlights.

A small torch that packs a mighty punch
I had never heard of Hosonic before, and figured it might not be as good as a similarly priced LED torch I’ve had for a few years from a well established brand; nevertheless I tried to keep an open mind. When it arrived I was surprised at just how small this torch is, yet the build quality impressed immediately with the really solid feel and grippy surface. It is surprisingly weighty, due to the metal construction and the large 3000mah battery, however you have the sense this would breezily wade through the toughest of conditions.I have always thought my old torch was pretty good, and it certainly receives positive reviews on Amazon, but my jaw dropped when I saw how much brighter the Hosonic is with the added bonus of a much more even spread of light. It is amazing that it punches so much power in such a small package and at typical brightness settings the battery is very long lasting. You can easily step through the power settings by clicking the power button briefly to change the output, plus it can also be made to flash strobe light or tap out SOS in morse code by clicking the power button three times rapidly.I did encounter a bit of confusion initially when the torch wouldn’t turn on and it turned out I simply needed to tighten the head completely before it would power on. When charging for the first time it was flashing red, which I interpreted as meaning it had less than 10% charge, but it seemed to stay that way until fully charged after about three hours, when it turned blue. These are just silly quibbles though that only occurred during the first time of use and I am really impressed by this small, but tough powerhouse. It takes a large capacity rechargeable battery that is commonly available on Amazon and charged by using the included USB-C cable. This one gets a big thumbs up.

Good spread of light
A good quality torch that comes supplied with battery charging cable and wrist strap. This is not a spot light type of torch as it provides a nice spread of light great for walking so that you can see a wide area rather than a narrow beam in the direction pointed. The photos show the different power levels in my garden, I had the power out of sequence in the video as it remembers what was last used and starts on that setting. A double tap on the switch turns it on in turbo mode which does warm up the torch very quickly so take care when using that mode, the SOS and strobe work well but I can't really see a use for them in day to day use. I found rotating the pocket clip to the opposite side to the power button useful for orientating the torch when getting it out of a pocket so that the power button comes naturally under your thumb. You will need to use the supplied USB C cable to charge the torch as the part which inserts into the USB C socket is about 1mm longer than usual so if a normal lead is used it will not charge. The charge port rubber cover is well thought out as it fits snuggly over the socket to keep moisture out and when pulled out for charging there is enough length on the retainer so it isn't under tension which could lead to failure. I have torches by Olight and they cost about double what this one does and do exactly the same, this company does seem to offer support for their products so worth considering if you're in the market for a quality torch.

Small, but packs a big punch.
I have to admit I was a little sceptical when I saw the price tag for this torch, and how it was going to be justified.Firstly, the torch arrived in a neatly packaged box, containing the torch, easy to read instructions and the charging lead. The torch is compact, around 10cm long, made of aluminium and finished in a neat matt black paint. It sits in the hand comfortably and is shaped so that won't roll off flat surfaces. The torch has a pen clip so it can be attached to clothing etc. The torch head contains 3 LEDs.It is a rugged construction and could easily stand up to moderate abuse, so would be good for more extreme expeditions. There are four brightness settings the brightest being turbo mode. This lives up to its name and managed to illminate my rear garden as if it were daylight (see my video). For its size, this is without doubt the brightest torch that I have seen. I have to use torches professionally and this rates amongst the best. There is also a strobe mode and a useful SOS mode (illuminates in the morse code pattern). The operating button feels robust and a step up from the cheaper rubber covered ones often seen on torches. The torch is waterproof, but I'm not sure if it could be used as a diving torch (it would be great if it could). My initial scepticism has been quelled, and I believe, due to its size, construction, functionality and extreme level of illumination, that this torch justifies the seemingly heafty price tag.

Way too expensive for a device that cannot be focussed
I have no idea why this torch is almost £70 when it lacks the basic "focus" functionality!?...Yes, build quality is very good, there are two locations that it can be unscrewed (back and middle sections), it has 3 bright LEDs and a good brightness coverage. The problem is that the light cannot be focussed into a small beam/spot, I was almost ok with that until I checked the price, it is a lot to pay for a device that has less features, I'd expect the the focus at least to be there.Unfortunately, this light is not very useful without focus, well to me at least.
