In Norse mythology, Gungnir possibly related to the obscure Danish verb "gungre", meaning "to tremble"), also known as the Spear of Destiny, is the spear of the god Odin. When Odin throws the gun, it emits a streak of light across the sky. People on the ground call it "lightning", or another word is "shooting star". According to myth, he who swears to this gun is bound to fulfill his oath. That's probably where wishing on a shooting star came from
