Great for Law Enforcement
I normally dont do reviews, but I feel strongly about this purchase. Im a police officer and needed a durable hybrid boot/shoe. In my experience if you want durable, you sacrifice comfort. If you opt for comfort, you sacrifice durability. I think these Adidas Terrex finally combine both. They are light weight enough to remind you of a high end basketball shoe, but beefed up in areas such as the ankle and sole to give a little bit more of a quality hiking boot feel. When I say beefed up, I do not mean to imply they are bulky, because they are not. The laces are incredibly strong. They are a flat lace, fairly thick and stiff, but thats not a bad thing. They stay tied without a double knot. The overall support is very good. Ankle and arch support are excellent. They are incredibly comfortable with lots of cushion. The sole gives you incredible solid footing. I haven’t had them long, but these are my initial impressions. I normally wear a 12-12.5 in Adidas shoes. I took the advice of other reviewers and ordered up a size. I ordered 13’s and the fit is perfect so they do run a size to a half size small. I especially recommend these to first responders, but also to anyone who is looking for that hybrid crossover, somewhere between an athletic shoe and a hiking boot. These things check a lot of boxes.

Great hiking boots good for a lot of different weather
I’m a mailman I bought these boots cause I do a lot of walking. They are very comfortable good in the winter not too hot not too cold. I have a nice big loop for sliding them on your foot. The tread is amazing and they don’t wear down in the heels are nice and wide

Need to size up
Preferred in my usual size 8 but had to return as they were to tight. I reordered in size 8.5 and it was perfect. They are comfortable and keep your feet warm as long as you are on the move.

I wish I would have ordered a size smaller
After reading all the reviews, a lot of people said to order up a size. I usually wear a 7 in men’s sneakers, so I ordered the 7.5. I wish I would have just ordered the 7, because these are a little big for me. I’m a little disappointed, because I like them, but they’re a little big and I don’t know if I can really return them now, or exchange them for the smaller size. They are well made, have good traction and a nice sole. They are a little difficult to get on and off, but that’s most likely because of the way that they are laced. Plus, I have to have them laced pretty tightly because they’re a little big for me. They are nice, though. Cool kicks. Not sure about waterproofness, but they are sturdy and comfortable.

Good balance between firmness and softness
The “Adidas Men's Terrex Ax4 Mid Cold.rdy” shoes are as advertised. Pros: - The toes are protected by hard rubber. - The soles are from Continental and there is a Continental logo under the sole. - Getting half a size over would be ideal for wide toes. - They are comfortable with a good balance between firmness and softness. - They look good. - The shoes came with moulded cardboard inserts. Cons: - The laces are bit difficult to tighten. - The ankles are a bit narrower than would be desired. Overall, these are good shoes and are recommended. See pictures enclosed.

My favorite hiking boots by far
I've been hiking for only about 7 years but these are so much more comfortable and reliable than any boots I've ever owned. I have Merrells that fell apart after some good use but these Adidas are so comfortable that I kept them untied and they were virtually the only shoe I wore throughout the winter. Tie them up for a hike and they have as much tread and grip as any. Seems like zero wear and tear after a year of rugged use. I got them on sale so even better but you cannot beat the value even if these were $250. Also I have never owned hiking boots that I could wear to a restaurant and not think twice. Super comfy, super reliable.
