Polaner Crushed Garlic, 4.5 Ounce - 12 per case.

It has never been easy to find jarred crushed garlic, but there used to be certain local stores that reliably carried either this product or the comparable Christopher Ranch brand. But for the past year or so it has been impossible to find. Luckily, I sensed this a while back and bought the last five jars at the last store in my entire metro area that still carried it. Since then I have never seen it in a store. I can only find identically packaged minced garlic, which is not what I want.But now I am on my last jar from that stash, and my search brought me to this case. It was a tough call. I had to ask myself if I shouldn't just get used to the minced garlic, since this case winds up costing almost twice as much per jar. Then there's the shelf life issue. I had no way to know what the expiration date would be, and how long would it take to use 12 jars anyway?But I bought it, and I'm glad I did. The case arrived in perfect condition and with an expiration date 2.5 years away; I have found unopened jars keep their "potency" well past the date stamped on the jar, but that was still a relief.A word about the packaging. This rather small case was shipped in a comically huge box with styrofoam lining, a freeze pack, and tons of air packs. Understandable, because the package stunk to high heaven of garlic even with no breakage; perfectly sealed and the smell still comes through, so imagine if one of these broke in the back of a UPS truck.Good stuff, and to me it is worth it.

If you've tried minced garlic, especially the stuff packed in water, you've been annoyed by occasional hard pieces from the stem of the clove. And the meaty chunks call a lot of attention to themselves in the texture department. This unique product is crushed, however, bringing you a fuller flavor instantly which blends easily into whatever you're preparing. If's fairly mild (but not as much so as the oil packed) but perfect if you're looking for fresh garlic flavor without the pungency - so you can add it at the end or just before the end of whatever you're preparing.

Good value for quality product with quick delivery

If you like the flavor of garlic without the big chunks of "minced", then "crushed" is the way to go. The problem is that most stores don't carry it anymore. I was delighted to find it here, and the Polaner brand is one I trust. It is high quality garlic with a good sweet smell/taste, crushed as advertised, and much easier to spoon out than brands with the tall skinny bottles. Great product!

I no longer buy fresh garlic. Once you try crushed you'll never go back!

Glad we could find this. The closest store to us that we found this is a ways away. We pay a little more, but worth it.
