10QT Organic Perlite Horticultural Soil Amendment for Plants and Enhanced Drainage Enhanced

Received the Large Perlite 10 QT today, and it is just as chunky as the seller's pictures indicate. These are literally small rocks of perlite and will be useful for my project to lighten up and aerate a small garden bed that has silty, poor draining soil. The big chunk perlite doesn't float to the surface like the smaller varieties that are used in potting mixes and sold separately. Pleasantly surprised to see that this is the real deal product that is usually only available in large bulk quantities from agricultural/greenhouse supply wholesalers.

The media could not be loaded. Really great product. I don’t think they sent the perlite though, this is definitely pumice (which for my application ended up being a welcomed surprise).Extra large, chunky, lightweight pieces were exactly what I had in mind for added aeration to my aroid soil mix.The price was average in comparison to brick and mortar stores in my area.10/10 would purchase again.

This perlite is huge chunks. Was actually shocked on such large chunks. I had always used smaller perlite which has a lot more powder. This perlite has powder but not to the extreme as the smaller perlite.I used this perlite in a soil mixture for large cactus and it seems to be giving good aeration in the soil. The cactus are growing well so I have no complaints. Quality is good and actually a reasonable price for such large amount.

I have been searching for BIG chunky perlite for so long- enter this product. After trying multiple vendors that claim to sell chunky perlite, only for the perlite to be average sized at best, I was not particularly hopeful about this order. Imagine my elated surprise when I open the box to see a huge bag of huge, chunky as heck perlite! Perlite is my favorite way to root cuttings/seedlings semi-hydroponically, but I find with smaller perlite pieces they're more prone to not having enough airflow as they can compact together pretty tightly. Chunky, bigger pieces of perlite are perfect for rooting/growing in semi-hydro, as well as mixing with coco coir (50/50) to grow semi-hydro that way as well. I will easily be purchasing from this seller again when I inevitably run out of perlite! So, so pleased!

I ordered some vermiculite and perlite from this company. Both products arrived in individual boxes inside of another box. So far, so good. Both products were in very thin plastic bags inside of their boxes. When I picked up the bag of vermiculite to remove it from the box, I discovered it wasn't sealed in any way--no tape, no twisty tie, nothing. Fortunately, most of the product that spilled out stayed inside the box. The perlite was taped slightly with one piece of tape, but it still left part of the bag open. There was also a cut in the bag, so some of the product spilled out into the box. I mean, would it kill them to at least close the bag completely before shipping? The products themselves look fine. The vermiculite is just the size I like--not too small and not too big. The perlite looks to be of good quality, too. But be aware if you order either of these things that just pulling the bag out of the box is a very bad idea unless you want the stuff all over the place. I would also suggest storing the bags in a box or double bagging them as they are very thin and tear easily.

Excellent and will buy again. I checked for verm at the local nursery, Home Depot, Tractor Supply and, clearly, it isn't readily available. So, I turned to Amazon. The pricing on Amazon is/was better than Walmart.com and the verm is perfect for my garden and hobby uses.

I use this organic perlite in my chunky mix, and my plants seem to love it. It helps with drainage and keeps the soil light and airy. High quality and works exactly as expected. Definitely recommend for any plant lover!

This chunky perlite works well for adding aeration to my soil and making a homemade aroid mix. The pieces that were intact were a good size and helped improve drainage, which is exactly what I needed.However, I was disappointed with the amount of dust and broken pieces in the bag. There was way more fine powder than I expected, which made it messy to work with and reduced the amount of usable chunky perlite. I had to sift through it to separate the larger pieces from the dust, and then rinse all of it off to get rid of excess dust, which was a hassle.Overall, it’s decent quality, but the excessive dust and crumbled pieces bring it down a notch. If you’re looking for truly chunky perlite, be prepared to do some sifting, also do it outside!! Perlite dust is harmful when breathed in.
