Performance Plus CartsClub Car DS Golf Cart Flip Folding Rear Back Seat Kit Diamond Plate - Off White

The seat installs fairly easy. The material is cheap thin wall square tubing but with an electric cart you do not want heavy gauge steel or heavy bolts so it’s understandable why it’s made so thin. But this review is not necessarily about the product itself it’s more about the company. Performance plus carts change my order at my request because I ordered the white cushions versus the black. Thankfully I got a hold of them prior to shipping and they immediately changed the order. After installing the seat I realized the vertical roof brackets and the backrest brackets were for the newer Club car DS. I have the older split seat model. I called performance plus carts on the 29th and expressed my concerns politely. I told them I wanted to use the golf cart for Halloween but I wasn’t quite sure how I could without the brackets. Mostly the roof brackets. Performance plus carts and their employee Amanda, went above and beyond and shipped out the necessary hardware and brackets to me that day. I got it the morning of Halloween. Needless to say we used our golf cart all evening for trick-or-treating and the day was saved. LOL The seat definitely serves it’s purpose but I’m more pleased with this company as they went above and beyond to help me out. Thank you

I found that the packaging was a lot of the work when getting this project started. It seems they really focused on this as others mentioned issues with packaging.The directions are better than most, but still not perfect. It does show you what to do but the explanations are missing depth. Overall I'd rate this as an intermediate level of expertise. A lot of that expertise is going to come from removing some of the equipment from the golf cart (versus the assembly of the seat to the golf cart).I was not thrilled with the thinner material (I purchased a seat for a previous golf cart that had a bit thicker steel and the seats were a bit more durable). The seats do need self tapping screws to install into the thin diamond plate steel but it does look good. The handle that comes with the seat seems to provide structural support for the thinner steel rather than convenience. Though it does provide a more secure look to the cart.IMPORTANT PART: The bigger issue I'm having now that it's all assembled is more and more cities are requiring rear seats to have seat belts. I had planned to install them as I did on my prior seat on my previous cart. That seat had bolt holes that seemed to plan for seat belts. This does not have holes for the belts and trying to find reasonable areas on the seat or cart aren't working. It seems like I'll be tapping some new holes to get those installed.Outside of that I still did rate this well as it is a good looking seat once on the cart. The instructions are solid overall. The packaging was also done well (2 boxes too). I would recommend this to others.

I bought my two seater club car really wanting a rear seat and was thrilled to find this kit on Amazon.This kit exceeded me expectations. Even the color and texture of the seap fabric matched the old front seat. The bonus is the flipping the rear seat for hauling or carrying anything. I attached images to show the great lengths they went to to make everything sturdy. Even when flip the rearseatup it rests in a hand rail attached to the bottom frame—- absolutely the strongest, well designed kit I could have hoped for. You will definitely be happy. Super quality braces to make everything very sturdy!The only thing I with they had was a picture of the entire club car put together.....would have helped me visualize & make installation quicker- although even the different bolts and nuts were banged with numbers for easier installation.-

Package arrived several days earlier than what I had anticipated. Well packed. The instructions are super easy to read and understand. All hardware and bolts/washers/nuts were accounted for.Hand tighten as you install the new items, and come back when everything is put together for the final tightening of bolts and hex screws. You will like the movement, especially when installing the arm rests to make the bolts slide in all 3 points, easily.This is on a 96 DS. Remove the entire original rear seat assembly and basket from the body and work from there.I would recommend, as everyone else does, put new leaf springs on if you are going to carry extra people and the seat weight on the rear of the cart. It will help avoid sag and rubs. My combo of shocks and leaf springs = no rear end sag or bounce. Even with 2 adults on it.I would guess that the total install time from removing the original seat assembly to final install is around 2 hours. I have yet to put the roof on, but that will take not time.Thank you!

It works, but had issues with running out of hardware and had to use my own. Roof supports had to be drilled, did not match up with factory holes (and was fairly easy). Not everything (holes) matched up to my cart but after putting in some muscle work, it all came together. Nice product!. Works great. Flip down seat to make it a bed for storage is a great option. I do feel this will start rusting as per experience with steel on the coast of FL. Aluminum would be nice!.

Well it took me and my father who is a mechanic a couple hours to put it together. Instructions are very very vague. The metal is flimsy. Some of our holes didn’t line up but the metal is bendable Chinese metal. Once all put together it’s pretty sturdy. It gets the job done. You get what you pay for. Overall I’m happy, just be prepared for it.
