Wow! This one hits hard. Post-partum depression is at the forefront of this story and it’s handled so well. Beth & Shane’s story is a great end to this series

A perfect single mom romance
A great story of destiny finding its way to make sure soulmates are together! Both mmc’s deserved to find their happy ever after.Beth’s journey to motherhood felt real and the description of her depression was authentic. Only wish there had have been a moment where Shane talked about his nightmare with Beth, seemed like that detail got left behind in all the plot. All in all a great read. 4⭐️

Ultimate book boyfriend
I honestly don't know where to start. The story, raw emotions in the book, and what they elicited in me, the characters... it was beautiful.First, I want to say that mh struggle post birth that Beth struggled with hit me like a sledgehammer. I honestly felt like a read about myself, minut the support that Beth received. I didn't realise that an author can show the struggle, pain, and strength in such a raw and real way.Second- Beth is one of my favorite fmc. Strong, but vulnerable. Didn't take shit, but was mindful of the impact she had and emotions of others.Third- Shane is the best book boyfriend. Ever. Hands down. I'm pretty sure I'm a little bit in love with him. This was my first read of Maggie's books. Now, I'm moving onto the other in this series. I hope there's much more to read.

angsty and emotional
Wow! This has got to be one of my highlights from this year. I wasn’t expecting it to be so gritty and emotional. I loved and felt everything Beth and Shane went through to get their well deserved HEA. This book definitely stood out for me with how it touched my soul. Loved this

Emotional Read
Shane has been attracted to Beth since he first saw her, but Beth is in a relationship with definitely the wrong man and gets pregnant. Shane is in for the long haul though. This emotional story details both Shane's battle with PTSD and Beth's with postnatal depression. With all the small town vibes and some peril that we get in this author's books, this was a satisfying read.

An enjoyable read
I love Maggie Gates. On the surface you could think she just does small town, cutesy romance, but delve deeper and you’ll find she actually covers some pretty dark subjects. I love that about her. I feel that I need to preface this review by saying that Maggie is one of my favourite authors and I will continue to devour everything she puts out there. I love how she thinks so deeply about her readers and has been very explicit about the possible triggers in this book, of which there are several. Now, that all said, this wasn’t my favourite. Don’t get me wrong, I liked Shane and I liked Beth and I certainly felt very emotional about their back stories; I cared about them. I just didn’t feel like we got a really good, deep understanding of them as characters like we normally do with Maggie’s books. They were a bit vanilla as far as characters go; a bit dull. I have lived experience of post partum depression, so you’d think I would really gel with this book. But I didn’t. I’m sure it was very cathartic to write, but it didn’t have the same effect to read. Normally I voraciously devour Maggie’s books, but I didn’t with this one. It wasn’t hard to read or anything, I just don’t think it had all the trademark charm I have come to expect from a Maggie book. I found it easy to pick up and put down which doesn’t normally happen.I loved finding out more about the Falls Creek superhero AKA Brandi Jean. I loved learning more about Shane’s background. I liked how Shane and Austin went full circle.I didn’t like what happened to Beth’s baby daddy. That seemed OTT. And I noticed (for the first time ever in one of Maggie’s books) a couple of punctuation errors (usually involving speech marks).Anyway, it was an enjoyable read. I enjoyed it on the whole but it won’t be one I pick up again I don’t think. I am really excited to read whatever Maggie sends our way next.

I never want to see the word Mama again for as long as I live. I felt like this book didn’t know what it wanted to be about.

5⭐️ 🌶🌶 .5
I received and ALC for this book. Produced by Blue Nose Audio and performed by Emma Wilder and Sebastian York.Maggie Gates wrote a beautiful and emotionnal story for Shane and Beth. They both have to deal with post partum depression and PTSD. Two difficult topics so please check the content warning. It's so well written and made me feel all the emotions : I cried, I laughed, I've been mad and stressed at some part of the story.I loved Beth, Shane and everyone in Falls Creek. Especially BJ, what a woman! Every woman deserve a Shane by her side! This man 🥰 He's Beth rock and how he is with Baby Kat...swoon 🫠 The narration is so good! Emma's male voices 👌👌 What saves us is the perfect ending to the Falls Creek series.

review
★★★★★. This was one of the best single mom brothers best friend book I have ever read. Shane calling Beth “mama” and Katherine “his tadpole” beats every other term of endearment. Him sewing his own bear for her, looking up how to warm up milk, making his guest room into a nursery for her and doing skin to skin in the hospital? Perfection. Katherine’s full name being Katherine Shane Hale was everything.Shane, my god Shane, he is the best book boyfriend by far. His love for Beth and Katherine was so pure and raw. He had no doubts that Beth would be his one day and then Katherine came along and he just wanted them both. Everything he did for them and making sure Beth was okay first was perfect. His backstory broke my heart and his PTSD and alcohol addiction was handled so well in this book. The author showed that it doesn’t matter how far along you are in your sobriety the thoughts will always be there and having someone to talk too is always helpful.Beth, my girl Beth, this girl is so strong. From getting pregnant to a guy who was married and then harassed her until she had to get a restraining order to having a baby on her living room floor; she was phenomenal. Her love for her daughter and Shane was beautiful. Her mental health was really brought to light differently than in any other book and I love how the author showed postpartum depression because she showed that it just doesn’t go away when you meet the love of your life. It takes time and it takes coming to terms that you are not well and that is okay.“Shane?” I called out.“Right here,” he said, appearing behind me and tossing something into the cart.I pulled it out. “What’s that?”“Mine.” I looked at the onesie and raised an eyebrow. “Really. You fit in newborn clothes?”He grinned. “I’m getting it. It’s for my tadpole.”“I’m sorry you can’t have the version of me you wanted ten months ago.”His lips pressed against the loose skin that was slashed with silvery stretch marks. “This is the exact version of you that I want.”

Brilliant book
Loved the book. It wasn't all sweet and romantic, but realistic and true. Loved how the author raised the topic of Postpartum depression. Bravo! And thank you from the womanhood, Maggie!

absolutely love it and feel a little unsatisfied
Okay so hear me outThis book was full of the same addicting characters and chemistry as the first two but it just came up a little short for me.The chemistry between Beth and Shane took a while to feel, in my opinion and I’m sure part of that is the events of the story that are taking place. But for two people who have had this “I want you but..” going on for over a year I just felt like the chemistry was missing at the beginning. I absolutely adored Shane like I have adored every one of Maggie’s leading men, but Beth was a little whiny to me. I totally get a huge part of this is her going through postpartum depression - and I was fine with that being a major player but it just felt like we gave Beth no personality outside of that. Most things were good, or fine but one thing that really made me take away the star was that we got to experience how much Shane struggled with PTSD and depression and while he’d been doing better/good there was never a moment in this book that felt like focused on him and supported him. It felt very one sided that Shane was always the one taking care but not Beth. It really bothered me.Overall the story was great, her characters are so full of life and real feeling like always and I’m 100% a maggie hates fan
