Okay, yes, you can make your own, but I have to say, I can never get my bags to work quite as well, nor can I make my bag as full and sew it shut without having a hole, so I am back to buying them. They last a long time, although I do use mine a lot so mine lasts about a year to a year and a half. If you don't emboss a lot, this could last you a decade or more, totally worth it. It does what it says, it removes the static so my glitters and embossing powder only stick where I want them and allow my cards to look very clean and professional looking. When you take hours making cards, mini albums or scrapbook layouts, it is worth it to use the right tools, and this is a must-have tool for me.

It is successful in removing the static from the base so the embossing powder does not stay on the base!

This worked well with my embossing tool. It helped the embossing powder to stick to the paper, which made the print come out clean and visible. Without it my patterns would come out splotchy and not clean. Only thing I didn't like was the amount of powder from this sometimes was excessive leaving my smooth paper feeling bumpy after embossing.

This little bag of antistatic powder for use when embossing is smaller than the "other" brand I have used in the past. The powder itself seems rather gritty. There was a lot of this grit outside of the fabric bag that had seeped into the plastic packaging which was rather disheartening. That said, as long as I slowly and gently rub it on my paper it works well but if I dab it firmer too much powder comes out. I'm not happy with that issue, perhaps the fabric bag is made of too loosely woven fabric? I probably will buy the "other" brand next time.

I was having trouble with stray pieces of embossing powder sticking to paper or cardstock. It was very tedious trying to remove the stray pieces. The Goodbye Static pad is amazing! I previously tried rubbing dryer sheets on cardstock because I thought it was anti-static enough. The results of the Goodbye Static pad are much better. There are very few, if any, stray powders. I rub it on the paper that I'm embossing and the paper that catches the excess powder. The Goodbye Static pad does leave a chalky residue that you'll need to wipe off before you stamp your image. Otherwise, it works like a charm.

This is an excellent item to have becuse it removes the static from your paper. It is wonderful for embossing. You rub it over your paper before you begin then you stamp and pour on the embossing powder and you don't have to worry about the excess powder sticking and then burning when you use the embossing gun. You can also rub it inside a tray or a tub that you use for embossing so you don't have to worry about wasting the powder which can be so expensive!
