You may feel silly wearing it BUT it does work! I am currently in hot, humid, rural, central Florida (aka ‘The Swamp’), adjacent to a wooded area and lakes. Need I say more? It’s humans vs “them”. Them being aggressive mosquitoes, no-see-ums, black flies, knats, love bugs, and anything else that flies and bites, swarms or is just plain annoying when gardening, on the trails, or when kayaking. Trust me, it had to get really bad for me to even consider a mosquito head net but the turning point was hearing a news alert on mosquito-borne illnesses (malaria, denge and West Nile) all with reported human cases found locally. After a little research, I decided on this one based on its large size, reviews, and price. The Giepht extra length of almost 20” does fit well over a variety of my hat brims (the tilley, crusher, fedora style straw hat and my safari bamboo pith helmet). Regardless of hat brim size there was enough mesh fabric to protect down pass my shoulders including the bamboo pith helmet with the larger brim and crown. The game changer was having the drawcord hem adjustment for easy on-off and to keep bugs from crawling under and in. It also comes in handy for keeping your hat in place during a strong wind gust. As a newbie and eyeglass wearer, this is ultra lightweight, breathable, and well ventilated so you always have airflow and unrestricted movement without your glasses fogging up. You have good visibility with the netting and after awhile you’ll notice you’re no longer having to swat bugs away. Unfortunately, the trade off is having to listen to the frustrated ones buzzing around you if they haven’t moved on. You will also need to watch yourself in areas where your netting could be snagged or ripped by branches. Overall, this is a great defense against mosquitoes and other nuisance fliers. It also protects against the occasional run in with a spiderweb or silks. It’s perfect for everyday gardening, doing yard work, hiking, or kayaking through the mangroves. It is well worth the money for a 2-pack. Keep one as a backup by attaching a carabiner through the loop onto your gear or gift it to someone who could use it. No instructions were included, but it is self explanatory. It comes packed with the netting stuffed into its own pocket so you don’t have to worry about misplacing a storage bag. It is easy to take out, but re-stuffing can take you a few minutes. My only regret is not having bought it sooner. Considering the price and quality, this was a pretty sweet deal for a 2-pack under $10. Highly recommend. 5 Stars!

I live in Florida so I use this mesh when mowing the lawn, walking during bug season. trimming bushes etc. It fits right over my hat and is adjustable. Stops of the little gnats and other bugs from fly near your face. I don't care if it looks quirky because I not longer eat bugs or have to swat them or let mosquitos take a bite on my face. It is very breathable and does not feel claustrophobic.

Works great, kept all bugs off my face. Would recommend using a bucket hat with it to keep mesh away from nose/mouth

The drawstring thing doesn't work properly, similar problem to the older ones. I set it at my best fit and then never try to slide it again. Pretty annoying for something is otherwise nice and effective. You should find that you can still slip it off easily without having to undo the slider.
