Fixed my overheating CPU
The CPU on my NAS was constantly over-temping in the middle of the night. While everything looked fine, I followed some advice and purchased this cooler - looks very similar to what was on the CPU, but pulled off the old one, cleaned the top of the CPU, installed this cooler and have had no more problems.

Avoid if possible
I was very disappointed with this solid copper heatsink. I got this with my jetway mobo thinking it would run cooler than the aluminum stock one. I was very wrong and almost destroyed the cpu. Dont purchase this item, the aluminum ones work fine if not better. The copper one ran at almost 80c the stock aluminum runs at a cool 40c.

Fits Supermicro's X10SDV series Mini ITX boards
Bought this cooler to replace a Supermicro X10SDV motherboard passive CPU heatsink. Works fine. A bit loud at full speed, but noise is expected at 5000 RPM. Dropped CPU temperature by 20 degrees C. The heatsink material is not copper, but anodized aluminum. Update: after 1 year the fan started rattling so horribly, I had to replace the fan. -1 star

It's not noisy, but it's still lame
Wish there were better options for cooling 25+W TDP CPUs on socket G2 setups. Not very much surface area, the small fan moves "enough" air, and is not loud, but if the fan goes out or gets clogged, I expect some quickly developing thermal load issues. FYI, mounting pattern is 51mm x 51mm according to other manufacturers' specs for G2 coolers.

20 degree drop (IF YOU USE IT CORRECTLY)
Used in a super micro E200-8D (mnl-1929). Works as expected. To the people complaining about the temperature not going down: please remember you need to remove the black/protective sponge/pad that is adhered to the heat sync (via double-sided tape adhesive) that's surrounding the pre-installed thermal paste pad/square - otherwise, it won't make contact with your processor...

Works well for a ASRock IMB-180 motherboard.
I picked this up with the idea that it would work but couldn't find anyone who posted about compatibility with the IMB-180 motherboard. Using an i7 4810 MQ CPU. It works well, but you will want to give the CPU a chance to heat up and melt the cooling compound before checking temps. It initially started out idle at 50C but now idles in the mid 30s. I will probably replace the stock compound for some artic silver later on. Initial testing with CPUZ's stress test seems to be ok, but I will probably see how this does with Prime95 since this is a 47 watt CPU.

Not suitable for D-1521 CPU on X10SDV board as temp went 12C higher instead of going lower
Purchased it in hope to lower temperature of D-1521 CPU on X10SDV board as the stock cooler kept idle temp around 50C. Shaving 5-7C off would make the investment worth its money. Unfortunately, the CPU temperature went 12C higher under the Dynatron I2 cooler, which I find unacceptable for a copper heatsink.
