Sturdy, accessible and safely and securely attaches to the bike is the best description. The wire rack holds a zippered bag that can hold a picnic lunch, or extra things you need on your journey.Used without the bag, you can attach a plastic bag and help the environment by picking up litter, and discarded cans along the way.In storage for winter, it holds my high viz vest, gloves, helmet, etc!My daughter liked it so well, she's considering one for her bike!

I bought a wooden crate from the craft store and painted it cute to look good on the back of my bike. Then mounted it and rode around a few days. The wooden crate messed up my balance and my bike fell over constantly when parked. So I threw up my hands and bought this foldable listing.This this basket is great. It folds down nicely. Fits what I need it to fit, has a strap to keep it shut when I need it folded down, and comes with a hooked mesh to keep things from flying out.The hinges have springs so the basket's natural state is open. It springs open when it's not strapped shut, but I've never had trouble with it popping open while I'm riding or catching my hands.I don't have a picture handy but I use it to carry groceries home, and one of these days I'll sew a cute cover for it.

Envisioned a grocery basket size "cage" for my bike rack so I could easily travel to and from local grocer on my bike and this product delivers in an amazing way! It was easy to install and it flips into place with no effort due to its built in springs! Can easily collapse when not in use. The extra bonus was when I was able to use a small Coleman thermos which fits exactly in its diameter when I need to transport colder items! I love this product and you will too if you have such a similar need!!

The basket is just as described, ingeniously folding flat until needed and then springing into action. A little tricky to install, so be patient. You won't regret the effort.

So originally we bought this so my kid could put her school things in the basket while she rides to and from school. However, it has since become her basket for the dog (he’s small) and they both love it! It is roomy enough for the dog or school supplies. It went on the rack quickly and easily; she was able to install it herself. And it is sturdy and will clearly last a long time.Definitely a great purchase!

Within two weeks of initial use, three of the four bolts and one of the bars that hold the basket to the rack fell off and were lost to the streets. Since it was outside of the return window, I'll need to buy new hardware if I want to keep using this basket.
