Works and should last!
First I purchased one of those fancy bore guides with plastic tips. When I used a copper cleaner, the plastic became very soft and lost its shape. The Dewey rod uses "O" rings. Should the "O" rings fail, I can easily replace them. The Dewey rod is perfectly simple and should last....well, forever!

The Bore Guide You Need
I am very satisfied with this top-quality bore guide. I think with one of these, you're set for life. I received the order timely and proceeded to clean the bore of my Winchester 70 Featherweight .308, having sent about 100 rounds downrange a couple of days before. The guide is quite self-explanatory and doesn't need detailed instructions -- which are not included. There should be two O-rings on the tube, but as delivered there is only one. It is easy to put the other one (the inner one) on using the nice O-ring mounting tool provided, but you need to do that before using the guide in order to get the best results; there are not instructions to this effect, so you have to deduce what to do (or heed my suggestion). This item is the real deal -- not a crappy plastic or PVC bore guide. Fit and finish are excellent. My one complaint is that the parts come packaged sort of scrunched up with tape all over the place and it's difficult and messy to open everything up. Once everything is unpacked and stowed in your gun cleaning box, you're good to go. Highly recommended. Be sure to get the right size!

Find the correct model number for the caliber/calibers that you need and get this brand. No cheap plastic and they just work. Will last you for years.

Great product
I bought this product to use on my Remington 700 ltr. I used the product and wanted to add some cautions. This bore guide (like many) extends the length you will need your cleaning rod to be but does a wonderful job of keeping your chemicals in the bore and not in the rest of your gun. It was rather expensive but does adapt to all of my guns so it has multiple applications. I would recommend this product to anyone.

As bore guides go, this one is made VERY well compared to some of the el cheapo plastic pieces out there. Dewey products have a reputation as being of very high or the best quality and this guide meets that expectation. I use it on a short action Rem 700 5R Milspec 308In addition to the guide rod you get a couple of extra o-rings and a pointy aluminum cone made out of billet. Whats that for? Its a starter so the replacement o-rings slip right on over the end of the guide. Thats a nice touch.If you have seen the Champions Choice brand version of this product they are identical.
