L series cuddeback camera
The model it replaced was a better camera. This camera is taking alot of blank pictures... setting on auto delay has helped. The red light in test mode is an infrared light. Its pretty much useless and I verified with Cuddeback customer service (not good by the way) that it wasn't a problem with my camera. You better have two people or some binoculars to try to see that tiny dim red light in a walk test. I believe it has better water resistance but the antenna was better side mounted so you could point it in the direction of a clearer stronger signal path. If I buy more I won't buy the L series and I would send it back if it wasn't hanging in the mountains. Customer service was sad... they lady gave me 30 percent off on a L camera because my J had moisture inside. They did not send my free genius mount. I called back and while on hold I was told over and over I would get a free genius mount with my customer service purchase of a new camera but the only explanation I could get was "we don't have them anymore and are trying to change the message you hear while on hold". I believe the red walk test light had to be an overlooked design flaw. She actually told me that is was that way so game couldn't see it lol. Problem is I can't see it either unless Im within a 3ft lol.

Only pictures 800x600 transmitted (not video)
Wish it had a rudimentary video recording at least locally on the SD card. It has standard definition pictures, roughly looking like 800x600 pixels (1Mpixel) that are transmitted to home unit that has to be purchased separately. However a missed opportunity to record video locally and higher resolution images on SD card.Overall very unique technology and handy device to see slightly over 1/4 mile through the relay unit in dense wooded area by the house without any subscriptions and outside of the WiFi reach.
