lots of research
I made a concerted effort to find a better shave after forty years of shaving with cartridge style razors and canned foam. I tried: a) double edge safety razors with the best blades I could find. b) top of the line Gillette Proglide as well as my long term standard Mach3. c) the top two best consumer grade electric shavers the Braun 9 pro and the Panasonic arc6. d) straight edge. I used each for month Throughout each month I tried a combination of canned shaving foam, canned shaving gel, shaving soap, and shaving cream. Out of all the shaving lubricants I tried I have to admit I liked Speick the most. The smell is subtle but pleasant. My wife approved. The contents are easy on the skin. The tubes are a good value in terms of how long they last. You can use the cream in a foaming bowl to whip up a lather with a brush or you can just put it right on your face. The tube travels easy and is compact. Works great with the range of shavers I tied. Great on: Price, scent, travel compactness, flexible application methods. Nice foaming action (not so thick that it's a pain to use with an electric razor, but thick enough to use any other shaver). Fits nicely in terms of scent with the electric pre-shave and aftershave in the Speick line. Nothing worse than mixing scents and smelling like a laboratory. On a side note. I settled on the Panasonic arc6. it had the best balance of a close shave and easy on the skin; whether I used it wet or dry. I prefer wet but sometimes it's good to get a quick touch up in the afternoon. In those cases, Speick pre shave is a great alternative to shaving cream. Anyways, great product line, consistently good quality product, good price, nice balance of all the properties I valued.

Best shave cream ever (for me)
I love this cream. I just put a bit on my hand, pat my hands together, and then rub on my beard. I don't see any need for a brush/mug. It goes on easy. I get a more gentle and smoother shave than I have had with any other brand/type. It is not the cheapest. It goes a pretty good ways for me. Super slick. I don't find it gums up my razor if I keep it rinsed well. Update: I just reordered two more tubes of this shave cream. It IS the best shave cream I have ever used. I have a relatively coarse beard and need to shave every morning if I want to have a clean face, which has nothing to do with this cream. It provides as close a shave as any other cream I have ever used. A little bit does indeed go a long way for me. It is super slick. As someone else said, I use about a dime size (tube thick). It doesn't lather up much. I'm not sure what that matters actually. As slick as it is I don't need it. And it washes off clean and fairly quickly. It has a subtle scent which is different than I have ever smelled before. I find it nice and it doesn't really smell after I dry off. I am not a shave cream snob as (no offense intended) some others seem to be. They like their rituals and if that works for them, great. I don't use a shave cream brush. I just put the small amount in my palm and use a couple of fingers from the other hand to mash it up and then apply. It also will not gum up my blades as I have seen with some other foamy creams. I guess I am giving it a rave review, and I am.

Good stuff 👍
Very good stuff, very slick, the smell is okay but all of these German products is very good, good skin food very slick I'm a wet shaver and been wet shaving for a while now, I got very good soaps and splashes like PPA, Ariana and Evans Moon soaps and so on but let me tell you I'm just talking about the slickness and the skin thing on your face 😀 for the money and for the shaving cream or aftershave and palm this will be in my collection and rotation I love it.

I Like Speick
This is a good shave cream and I use it for travel l also take a small boar brush on a trip. Overall, I Like the Speick scent. However, the shave cream scent is very very light and my reason for one less star. It makes a good lather with a brush.

Getman Shaving Cream for Sensitive Skin and Coarse Stubble also
Shave cream made in Germany. It is convienent for travel for a toiletry bag. This shaving cream is goos for sensitive skin. Also, a pre-shave is not needed if you lather this shaving cream on your face for 1 to 2 minutes as the soap soaks int tour akin and soften it. I do a 3 pass shave with a Simpson badger brush and a Merkur 34c with a Wilkinson Sword Classic German blade. Also, I do not need aftershave when using this shaving cream.
