BlueVueOverflow Gasket Kit with 3-1/8" Overflow Cover for Stopping Tub Leaks, Chrome

At first glance, I am happy that it does NOT say overflow on the cover (like it does in the picture). And I am a little disappointed at how visible it is from the side. My last complaint is that the cover isn't flat like the gasket is. The $2 gasket from the store is fat at 1 end because tubs used to slant in towards the bottom, so they say to turn it to the 3 or 9 o'clock position since the drain pipe will turn freely.Now I do like how this gasket seems to make a deal around the face of the tub and then extends down into the pipe past the $2 gasket behind (yes I replaced that 1 too, which had failed before). Fingers crossed that when I replace the ceiling (again) that had been leaked on it will be my last time. Several plumbers had come and cut holes in the drywall not 1 thought oh that overflow drain could be the problem, and they all wanted to do way more work.Installed on 5/26/2020, so it was delivered 2 days earlier than expected to be delivered. I do live in a major city only 1 state away from the distributor. Still surprised they don't have something like this in the big box stores.

Lucky to have found this product.Our original black plastic washer broke over the years. Water was leaking through the hole to the ceiling downstair.Tried to repair it with a washer bought at Home Deport, but no way to push it through the hole to install.Search the web, and came across this.No need to remove / replace the old washer.Just install this from outside.It works great.A must have!

I haven't had a chance to install it yet but I can tell you that this is an absolutely brilliant idea for somebody who has a leaking overflow valve. I was looking for something to completely seal it up, although that's not really what I want to do. When you have tenants that take baths and leave them running and overflow them into the apartment below, it's better to actually fix the problem. I've never thought of this type of idea, but it truly will fix the problem and I am so grateful that this exists. Brilliant but simple invention, and well-made. It arrived quickly, and it is definitely well-made

I just installed this product. As everyone else is saying, this is a brilliant idea. It’s too bad that this idea isn’t incorporated into the tub overflow pipe to begin with, but at least this product exists which totally fixes the problem.It probably wasn’t necessary, but I put a little silicone glue between the metal plate and the silicone gasket. I also thought of putting silicone glue between the silicone gasket and the tub wall, but I didn’t do that because I thought it would make it difficult to remove in the future.The metal plate is screwed into the overflow drain pipe with two screws. My overflow drain pipe is PVC so I tightened the screws down pretty good, but I didn’t make it super tight because you don’t want to strip the PVC threads. Start the screws by hand so that you don’t cross thread them which would be easy to do with PVC.The cover plate is secured to the metal plate with one screw. If I understand the physics here, you want to screw the cover plate in lightly, because it wants to pull the metal plate away from the tub wall which would cause a leak.

Sturdy overflow gasket. We had a problem in that the builders left no room for a standard gasket and there is no play in the pipe to fit one in from the tub. The pipe is literally flush with the finished inside of the tube meaning our overflow flows down of the downstairs tenants. This was the only solution. I'm so glad I found this! It does mean the cover plate is larger than the one bought at the store but I assume we'll get used to it.

I replaced the whole tub drainage system several years ago (and it was very difficult because of the location), and my overflow had a slight leak after that, but my family never takes baths so I didn’t think about it…until my older kids started taking them and caused leaks. It was only slight, but it was enough to notice on the ceiling of the level below it. I tried everything but complete replacement, then I saw this product. Let me tell you that it was extremely easy to install, and it worked perfectly. I’m am thoroughly happy with this gasket kit. Yes, you can see a little bit of blue from the gasket if you look, but I do not mind that at all since it works so great. 10/10!!!

As far as I am concerned, the money that you will save if there were a leak justifies having one on every single bathtub in your home that has these type of overflow tubes. Very easy to install. Also, as someone that really only uses the shower, and not until my girlfriend started using the bath, did I know there was a problem and only god knows how long it has been going on for... Everyone should check their current situation to see if the gasket is still working properly and even scarier, to see if it is still there or if the pipe is even attached... Spread the word, this could easily save a headache down the road.

Took care of the leaking problem I had. Wish it would have came with the two screws to attach the interior piece as the ones from the old cover were rusted. I had to purchase more screws. Would also have liked some other finish options to match the rest of the fixtures in the bathroom. Shipped much sooner than expected
