Yet Another Excellent Read
Well Written and an enjoyable book. This is 'Beau' Beaumonts and Millicent Sparrows story. We had met Millie in book 3, a down trodden and abused young woman who was at the mercy of her bullying cousin, Millie suffered from 'fits' whenever upset or stressed and she had an episode at a ball and was helped by Beau. Millie had met Beau years previously unbeknown to him and had loved him ever since, so when she had a chance to speak to him she grabbed the opportunity, and when Beau escaped to France to escape his debts she sets up a correspondence with him. On his return he is so appalled to see how badly Millie is treated by her cousin that he marries her to protect her, it is supposed to be a marriage of convenience but doesn't work out that way, and the following story is, to my mind truly magical. Even in book 3 when Beau was being a baddie I had a soft spot for him, and in this book he and Millie, who although not overly beautiful, was a rare jewel, who was kind, clever and treated most people with respect bought out the best in Beau. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and would recommend it.

A delightful tale
Throughly enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more from this author. The tale lightly touches on a number of issues relate to women and their status in the Recency period and on the issue of epilepsy or fits and how society viewed such things. Has some highly racy scenes that are well written.

wonderful - don’t miss it
I loved this story of the bad boy rake who falls for the shy young woman who nobody notices. This is a real slow burn romance which, when it finally kicks off, kicks off with fire and sparks! This novel gives you a real case of the feels. The best in the series by far.

Opposits attract
Interesting story line, and enjoyable to read. The characters are likeable and the pace is fine for a Regency romance.

Wrong book delivered.
I can't really review this book, as I got the wrong book delivered to my Kindle ... It claims to be The Devil May Care, but I'm pretty sure from the synopsis that it's the previous book in the series, Scandal's Daughter. If this problem gets sorted out, I will review this book properly.

Such a rogue
I didn't much like Beau in Scandal's Daughter. I changed my mind after the first half dozen pages of The Devil May Care. Indeed he did care and this is a lovely story. Emma V Leech is a brilliant author.

4.5 STARS - GREAT COUPLE
This is my second book of the series and is a stand alone. Oh, it is rare, where an author gives you both strong H/h. Lately I've ran into women author's who seem intent on making the h "B", with no redeeming qualities. But, not in this story!I enjoyed their talks and letter's back and forth it really gave you an insight to their true character's. There romance builds slowly which was another plus for me. I dislike when lust come before the romance, but not here. Our h leaves the H (and rightly so), but I felt she gave in to fast and the only reason I had with this story. They both brought out the best qualities in each other and their backgrounds will tug at your heart. There is some suspense, and interesting dialogue that held my interests. The lovemaking is cold shower time but full of passion (and description), but not erotic for me at least. I have to care for my character's to not mind the lovemaking. We do get HEA, no cliffhanger and no cheating (but almost). I have signed up for this author's newsletter because I enjoy how she pulls you into her stories.I am not going into the premise, as many have described it, just what you may get out of reading this story. Fantastic author!
I love this genre and this author always delivers. If you're looking for bodice ripping action in the first chapter with no character development....move along. This isn't that kind of book or that kind of author. Oh no. This book builds and builds and when the smutty action arrives get your local firestation on speed dial. You'll need it. That being said, there are enough twists and turns in the story to keep you on the edge of your seat and second guessing yourself along the way.

Love It
I really loved this story. Miss Sparrow is a victim of abuse who strikes up a genuine friendship with the Marquis of Beamont. From friendship love blossoms.A very enjoyable read from start to finish, and riveting throughout. There's always a sense of excitement when you first starting reading a regency novel. This book delivers. The story is intriguing and entertaining. The characters are endearing and well developed, and the plot keeps the reader's attention and interest. Two thumbs up for this must read.

Entertaining
Good premise for a story and it held my interest even if it did get a little repetitive at times. And, at last, we have a brown haired brown eyed heroine and a blonde blue eyed hero, get so tired of the usual dark hero and angelic blonde heroine. Also, liked that both had a good sense of humor and were likable. Could have done without the rescuing street urchins business which just seemed forced.

A fresh Regency romance.
I had become a little jaded with Regency romances and not read one for a while but the blurb to this story caught my attention. It’s promise was certainly fulfilled and I have to say that I enjoyed it very much. There were shades of Georgette Heyer in its elements and she was a beloved author of mine. Milly is such a lovely character and very simpatico. Beau, of course, is the essence of a hero. Although he is taken by Milly’s intellect he is still a gentleman of his time and has an authoritarian streak in him. His insistence of a marriage of convenience from the beginning was his downfall in the end. I loved the story but be aware that there are some explicit love scenes.
