Good Jar for Sourdough Starter
Very happy with this purchase, sure beats the mason jar I had been using. The wide mouth makes adding flour a LOT less messy, the shape makes for easy cleanup after pouring out starter for a recipe or discard, and the included stirrer/scraper is great at helping clean most of the starter off the the sides. The cloth cover for countertop storage and a silicone one for fridge storage are a nice bonus .

Best choice of all the starter jars.
This product is very good! I was using a mason jar but with this I can track the last time I fed the sourdough starter and it comes with helpful accessories. It has a stirring tool a rubber bottom and helpful canvas cover which is washable. Very sturdy and the best choice.

Quality construction, looks great!
I decided to buy this sourdough kit instead of using a mason jar because the measurements, lids, and temperature gauge on the jar will make preparing and feeding sourdoughs so much easier. I am very impressed with the thickness of the glass and quality of all the components included. It’s also visually appealing sitting on my counter and in the refrigerator. The size is perfect as it allows extra space for the sourdough to rise without fear of it spilling over.

Perfect for my needs (kneads!)
Perfect for my needs (kneads!) the jars are made of thick glass. I needed (kneaded!) two jars to keep my sourdough “mother” healthy. The storage capacity is over 800 Grams, sufficient room for growth I like the large mouth opening. The stretchy band is marked with time and days for monitoring. It makes it easy to add flour. I like the lids that are provided. The cloth covers fit well for when I am ready to feed the starter. The temperature indicator is an added benefit to the jars. The spurtle provided is well made and stiff. Stirring and mixing with the spurtle is a breeze. I have been looking for a while for the perfect jars for my sourdough “mother & starter”. The shape of the jars have a nice esthetic. The set is priced fairly. This is a fantastic set of jars! Best wishes with your bread making journey!

Almost everything you need and great quality
Introduction to making sourdough from a starter is made easy by this kit. Thick quality glass, spatula and lots of other helpful additions. I will need some larger jars, but as a beginning it all helps in one package kit.

KneadAce review
What a functional starter container this is, with a mouth big enough to put my entire hand inside to clean it. The accessories include one cotton top, a rubber-type top, one elastic band with dates and hours that shows when you last fed your starter, and can be slid up and down the glass container to show the starting point of the starter before feeding it, a very functional spatula, and a temperature gauge that goes on the glass vessel. When the glass container is not in the fridge, you can put the rubber top on the bottom of the vessel to prevent it from sliding around on the countertop, which is lovely. It also includes a long, complex rubber tool for steering your starter, and it easily cleans off the sides of the glass starter container when preparing your starter in the vessel. As for the temperature gauge, be careful not to disregard it; it's tiny in a plastic package with the other accessories. I accidentally threw mine away because I was unaware of it in the package. I emailed KneadAce, and they emailed me the same day. I told them what I did and offered to buy another temperature gauge. KneadAce said that they would send me another temperature gauge for free. Finding customer service like this is tough; my hat is certainly off to Michelle who was my customer service representative. One last thing, the cardboard box and packaging inside that the glass container came in was perfect. You know KneadAce cares about the quality of the product when it comes packaged this well. The picture is of the second KneadAce I bought.

So Very Handy
When first viewing this jar online I wasn't sure how the temperature plate worked. As my photo shows, the 'leaves' turn a different color indicating your house temp, and helpful to guesstimate rising time of fed starter. The temp plate is actually a sticker which strongly adheres to the glass jar. You adhere the temp sticker yourself. Jar must be hand washed due to that sticker. The black stretchable band is great to keep track of date & time of last feeding. It is marked for Sun-Sat and 6 AM-12-6 PM with shorter vertical lines for unmarked 3 AM-9 AM-3PM-9PM (as seen in same photo). The jar is thick glass making it durable. Comes with a silicone cover that doubles as a bottom gripper besides being the cover for refrigeration. There is also a hand washable stretchable cloth top cover for when your starter is rising in a warm area. And a sturdy, stiff rubber spatula. No recipes were included. This item is very well made and a good value for your money. If it ever broke I would replace it, but I don't see breakage happening.Only disappointment was that it was shipped only in it's original container, not in another box for protection. It was delivered with a sizable gash in one side; however nothing was lost, and glass jar was intact as the top & bottom of jar was packed in sturdy foam. This is the first time ever that Amazon did not ship an item inside another protective box. Perhaps due to XMAS rush or pending strike?I'm new to the sourdough world and was using a canning jar with masking tape and/or a rubber band to mark the starter's level. I'm also an infrequent baker (gotta watch those carbs) and at times I couldn't remember last feeding. So I really like this jar.I'm just a regular customer giving an honest, unsolicited & uncompensated review. I do recommend this productm
