My second cordless mower, and a far better one.
I enjoy having a cordless electric mower for my yard, which covers about 4200 square feet. My mower's motor burned out last fall (likely my fault) so I searched for a replacement. My choice was this 40V 18-inch Wild Badger. Compared to my broken six-year-old mower, the Badger is lighter, less noisy, features easier and more useful cutting height adjustment, adjusts power to meet tougher grass patches and can do my entire yard on one battery charge. It is built in China, but I lucked into a temporary price reduction during the tariff confusion. The only thing I miss is the safety key that prevented unauthorized use of the old mower. Not included in this one. It's still new, but I see and like the design advances made over the past few years.

Detailed review...
You can skip to the bottom for a quick pros & conOk, so starting with shipping, and this is probably on Amazon, not the manufacturer/original shipper/whatever. This was listed for next day delivery. I ordered this on Sunday June 2, 2024 along with an extra battery (also listed next day) and something else for Thursday (4 days out). As soon as the I got the notification (a few hours later) that this shipped, I saw that it was now scheduled to arrive on Thursday along with the other unrelated item and the battery was still scheduled for next day. The next day the battery arrived on scheduled. On Wednesday I got a notification that this was out for delivery with the other item. The other item arrives, this never does. At 9:45pm it says "still arriving by 1pm, tracking shows it went back to the hub at 8:48pm. I was assured it would arrived on a scheduled delivery the next day (Thursday) between 6 & 8am. It arrived at 12pm.Assembly: fairly easy, though the instructions are not as detailed as you would want them to be. However, it didn't take long. Popped in the battery and started it up, seemed to run smoothly, at a nice high speed and fairly quiet. Took out the mulching attachment and attached the bag (you cannot use both at the same time) and put it in the garage. I charged both batteries to ensure that when I used it they would cut my now way overgrown grass. (Old mower broke down a few weeks ago.)Operation: Took it out this morning around 9:45am, and for context,it lightly rained two days ago and there was still the morning dew so the grass was damp. And you can see in the pictures how high the grass was. Anyway, I set it on the highest cut setting and started it up, and started cutting. This thing ate right through the tall grass with ease. It shot all the clippings into the bag without any problem and really packed them in there (see picture). Also noticed that it knows when it needs more or less power. When hitting the high grass, the RPMs kicked up and when it was off the high grass it bogged down. Very nice feature. Now I'm not sure which of the two batteries I used at first, but it lasted AT LEAST the 35min that it claims it will run. I was at it for nearly an hour with having to keep stopping to empty the bag and restarting. I posted pictures of how much I got done on one battery charge. HOWEVER, the second battery only lasted about 15min, but I believe that part of the grass, being that it was in the back where the sun wasn't hitting it, was wetter and I also didn't have a lot of area that wasn't dense so it was running at the higher RPMs for the majority of the time. So now I only have a little bit left to do as I write this waiting for the first battery to recharge, which supposedly only takes about an hour. I have no concern that when mowing my approximately 1,000sqft of lawn under normal weekly mowing that I can get it done with one battery charge, if not definitely well before the second one is even close to being used up. I will try the mulching attachment next time and update this review.Pros:•Very lightweight (about 30lbs) no need for self propelled feature (this doesn't have it anyway)•Blade cuts very well•Design bags clippings phenomenally•Quiet•Easy to Assemble•Bag fits tightly•Rubber guard on back keeps things from hitting your legs•Price for what you getCons (kinda):•Feels like a toy. Almost all plastic (but that's part of what makes it so light and inexpensive)•Max 35min runtime (but that's on par with the more expensive brands like E-GO & Greenworks for the same 40V battery).

So far id say good so i give four stars
I cant honestly say how good it is yet because i am a slightly disabled woman with a C3 to S1 spine injury that i will never fully recover from. So with that here we go.I did not receive an owners manual. But its common sense putting it together since you are just attaching the handle. Other common knowledge is charging the batteries to full before use.I am unsure of speed on charge because i put one on the charger one morning before work and then came home and charged the other. So the one thing i had problems with is getting the blade to engage. Mainly because as soon as you hold up the bottom lever (self propel) you push the start button. For me it wouldnt engage with both levers at same time. So when holding SP lever the wheels start turning but then you have to bring down the blade lever to the handle and press the start button again to engage. And for me the slowest level was fine but had to bump it up just slightly. The fast speed for me was WAY TOO FAST like watching a 90 yr old walking a bull mastiff if the mastiff wasn't trained to heal. But for norma person fastest speed might be perfect. As you can see by the pictures i posted, my grass was in dire need of a cut. I really liked the one handle to raise all wheels at once. Saves a persons back. I had it set for the highest level. I used the mulching and it really didnt leave a lot of grass mess so it did really well especially with the height of my grass. I did not mow that much because my back was in pain and legs were shaking, but i think i mowed for about 30 to 45 min (again i am very slow) and battery i guess was dying but not sure because i was pretty done (pain wise) by that time anyway.I put the battery back on the charger. Wiped down the mower and folded it up and placed it next to the two non working gas mowers and gas cans that im so glad i dont need to use anymore. I was happy i didnt have to wait for my mower to cool off before i could wipe down or deal with the fuel smell bring back into garage.Oh almost forgot… the handle adjustment for tall people. Its really nice. Although i am short, now my bf can possibly do this and since its self propelled he shouldnt die in the heat as quickly. And its okayish for me to do if absolutely need to.I did notice that the charger will blink green. Since i didnt get an owners manual i am assuming that the charger was hot. My battery said fully charged when i checked the little push button on battery so i unplugged the charger.I saw someone before in reviews wondering where you can purchase new batteries and i googled it and said lowes or tractor supply.Anyway im going to throw this tip out there as well just for the added common sense ALWAYS REMOVE BATTERY BEFORE FLIPPING OR GOING ANYWHERE NEAR THE BLADEyou never know. But since i didnt get an owners manual im sure others wont either. But most people dont read them anyway.Want to add in there too, i did pay a service to mow my lawn since it had been two month since last mow. I didnt want to break my new mower on that bad of lawn LOLSo upkeep will be easier.I will update on battery life and charge and performance once i actually mow the whole yardBut i give it a four star for now just because of my lawn condition and my physical condition prevented a thorough use.

Light and powerful
Very happy with my purchase. This mower is light but powers through grass. Even long grass: it automatically switches to a high power mode, picks up all clippings and there's no need for another pass.Easy to operate, empty bag and folds up nicely. My lawn is not huge and the battery has plenty of juice to last. I didn't want a self propelling mower with the mechanical complexities and added battery drain that follow from that. This is perfect for my use.
