Get it for inspiration
This is more of a version 1.1 than a version 2, as much of the material covered is the same. So i'd recommend picking up this one and then maybe the first book later to get a few more details and ideas. The book is thin in pages but deep in terms of content, it gives both inspiration in terms of images of a wide selection of customised minifigs, and also detailed how to and what to buy.with 3d printing becoming more and more accessible thanks to kikcstarted projects, i'd love to see a proper "v2" in a year or so focused solely on that as the current material is a bit superficial.

If you liked Volume 1.....
Expands upon various aspects of Minifig customization, providing even more info than contained in the first volume. If you found the first volume interesting and/or helpful, this is a logical next-step resource for someone looking to customize LEGO Minifigures. Since it does go 'further', it isn't really a stand-alone item for someone looking to cover all aspects of the subject, and the publisher should probably just combine the two volumes and sell them as one comprehensive reference on the subject.

For the advanced modder, but still kind of light
The first volume of this series was great for the new minifig modder with lots of in-depth instructions. This sequel is more a collection of hints, tips, resources and a few fairly light-weight instructions. There are also interviews of a sort with well-known modders. Overall, it is a worthwhile investment of money and time, especially for the experienced modder or someone who aspires to be one.Jerry.

Inspiring!
I own the first in this series as well. Some information seems to be similar to the first book, but lots of new information. My kids and I have read this over a few times, and I'm absolutely inspired to go try some of these techniques.

welll...
I personally liked it, but I'm an artist type who would love to paint up some minis. My son is 11 ...not quite so much patience, but the book (which is thin) was visually interesting.
