I have been using this bin for 5 months and have no complaints whatsoever. In a nutshell it comes down to good materials, simple construction and an un-fussy design.While it looks good, I care more about functionality for most products. The lid moves smoothly in both directions: I prefer the lid down to the side and the silicone tag is easy to grip and keeps my fingers off the exterior when opening and closing.The insert is easy to remove and clean though once I started to put a paper towel on the bottom of my compostable bag and I stopped putting really wet stuff in there, I haven’t really needed to clean the insert. I cook quite a bit so perhaps my high volume of rubbish keeps a high bag turnover.Lastly, the charcoal filter is effective and going strong. With the lid closed there is no smell. I will say that I don’t let waste sit for more than two days and I don’t put any animal waste aside from eggshells in my bin so I can’t attest to most non-plant compost odor, which gets rank faster.Very pleased so far and may consider the larger size in the future.

We had to mount a wood surface on our wall so we could hang this we use it for kitchen scraps.

Hey GuysAnthony Amazon here. This is the most convenient kitchen trash can ever. Instead of opening my cabinet under my sink and sliding out my trash bin, I just leave the lid open on my countertop and throw it in there. A lot easier than opening the cabinet with wet hands and cleaning the cabinet after that. Looks great and is definitely smudge proof. If you’d rather hang it on the cabinet door under the sink, that works well also. Definitely a must have if you’re looking for a neat and convenient clean up in your kitchen or any other space you might need it. Looks classy and great.

This is awesome!! Perfect size and sturdy. The lid opens in two direction and can be easily installed or placed on top of water cooler. And it really doesn't smell!

This trash can is great for small spaces, and the lid opening two different ways is very cool (helps in removing the inner bin).
