Questionable if leak free
Bit of a read, but I promise this is gonna be the most in-depth review of this product anywhere on the internet.Disclaimer: Waiting for tanks to arrive so I can’t pressure test it yet, will update once I have.I’ll start by giving you my credentials on this subject. For the last 4 years I’ve been an account manager for a valve and fitting manufacturing company who’s core valves are quality, integrity, respect, continuous improvement, customer focus, and innovation. So I promise I know what I’m talking about here. I quote out more complex stuff than this on a daily basis. The female connection for the hose to mount to the regulator is a 37 degree JIC connection, and the male end of the hose that screws on there is not JIC in any shape or form. So rather than what would be approximately 3-5mm of sealing surface if the male was a JIC, you get maybe 1mm at best, and I’m being generous here, I’m not confident at all this is a leak free product. There is no thread sealant (thread tape or otherwise) of any kind on the NPT connections for the gauges, over pressure relief valve, or the male NPT side of the female JIC fitting.NPT threads require a sealing material aside from the threads to be gas tight, especially with small molecule gases. For example helium and hydrogen are notoriously small gas molecules and are known to permeate through all but metal hoses, and will even permeate through stainless steel given enough time (approximately 25 years or so). Luckily Nitrous oxide molecules are about 4x larger than helium molecules and roughly 8x larger than hydrogen, so this shouldn’t be an issue. But the lack of a sealing material on these connections, and use of a JIC connection to mate with a non-JIC connection on the hose shows a complete lack of any research, or better yet care given when configuring and assembling this product. It is very obvious where corners were cut on this to save money, so save yours and get a higher quality option for than this one.I will be bringing this to work with me after the weekend to ID the CGA bottle connection type, and will update my review with what it is so you may use that info in tracking down a quality regulator.Another thing, the instructions that come in the box are dense as lead, whoever wrote it probably has a body count higher than their iq. But also says to wipe off any oils that may have leaked out. With this product being marketed for the food service industry (or really for recreational use). This should have a specially cleaned rating of SC-11, which is for food, heath/pharmaceutical, or semiconductor manufacturing applications. Even an SC-10 is no where near as greasy as this thing is, and that’s standard cleaning, for applications like oil and gas / chemical process, or general use.If it was me I wouldn’t be inhaling… I mean eating anything that you are charging with this, at least before a thorough clean, and a solid couple sacrificial purge charges to clear out the internals of anything before actual use.Once my gas arrives in a few days I’ll be pressure testing this regulator with a proper leak detection fluid, and ultrasonic leak detection tool to see if it does in fact leak and waste gas. If it does I’ll be returning it.Before anyone asked why I didn’t just purchase one from the company I work for… when it’s my money I’m a cheap prick, what can I say haha our regulators can cost anywhere from $500 - $1600 on average. So I took the gamble on this one.Currently, I’d avoid this product on the excess oil alone, but I’ll let you know if it leaks when I can test that, if it does leak DEFINITELY avoid it. Nitros leaks can have adverse health effects with longterm exposed. Also oily food (or lungs) ain’t so great for you either.2 stars for now, if it leaks once tested then 1 star.

Does not leak and fail like others
Tried other brand whip cream regulator tanks before but this is much better quality!

Only lasted through 2 tanks
The center release valve, the large black one with the arrow, gave out under just normal use mid tank. It literally fell off and we had to regulate the gas with pliers. It was attached to the metal with flimsy black plastic. This was a really expensive piece of disposable garbage apparently.I'm not sure what brand to switch to but I can't see spending money on this piece again unless they redesign it. I have very small hands and can't even get jars open, let alone snap that piece off, so it was definitely a design or manufacturing defect.

2 out of 2 Failed in the Same Way
Update: After a few more tanks, the second regulator caused an explosion of the whipped cream dispenser. The explosion was so strong, it blew a hole straight into a printer, destroying that on top of the dispenser, and the regulator. Thank GOD nobody was hurt! Please DO NOT ORDER THESE REGULATORS!!Purchased two and both leaked like sieves from the regulator to hose connection. When I say it leaked - I mean it LEAKED. Cost our company thousands in lost gas before we realized what was happening. The first regulator lasted about 2 or 3 weeks before the o-ring in the tank : regulator joint broke apart. We replaced the o-ring but it never sat quite right and the unit began leaking at this joint as well as the hose joint. Regulator #2 was broken right out of the box. As soon as it was connected to a tank, the hose : regulator connection was spraying out gas and very quickly froze over. We found if you keep the hose “just so”, it seems not to leak, but that’s unrealistic - not to mention dangerous. We used electrical tape to patch it together but again, it seems dangerous.Would definitely not recommend purchasing this regulator, unfortunately.

Works well, not very durable
Be careful letting others use it. They tend to turn it too hard to the left and break it! I have had the 2 I bought break this way.
