Great Radar, but be aware......
BE AWARE THAT THIS IS THE VERSION MADE FOR MARKETS WHERE FLASHING TAIL LIGHTS ARE ILLEGAL - IT DOES NOT HAVE A FLASHING MODE. DO NOT CONFUSE IT WITH THE GARMIN VARIA RTL515, WHICH DOES FLASH.The radar seems great to me. It connected seamlessly to my Bryton Rider 750SE cycle computer, and so far has been perfect at detecting cars, with no false positives (alert but no car), and no false negatives (car but no alert). With my particular cycle computer connected by Ant+, I get an audio alert and a visual alert, and a few times it alerted me to cars long before I heard them.I really should have bought the RTL515, as it has many more modes for the light. Being full on all the time will eat the battery, and personally I feel a flashing light is more noticeable. If you're in a country that allows it, I'd suggest looking at the 515 instead of this version (the 516).

RTL-516 - The non-flashing version of the Radar Tail-light.
excellent bit of kit - be aware though, this is the model 516 - the version adapted for legal use in Germany - which basically doesn't have any of the flashing modes for the light. If you want the version WITH the flashing modes, look for the RTL515 instead.

Garmin Varia
Brilliant piece of kit for safety . Paid it with your Garmin bike computer or watch . Particularly like the fact it pair to watch and when car comes into range behind , your watch vibrates . This is good as you may not notice the Garmin computer but you’ll feel the watch vibrate. One of the best bits of kit for safety on your bike .
