LOL It works great!!
Checked out the other reviews when purchasing this. Don't know WHAT they are doing or talking about. Very easy to install. ALL DRIVERS DOWN LOAD FROM EPSON. I can put my iMac, desk top, to sleep and scanner stays on. Went off once and when I woke iMak up it turned back on. No unplugging , reloading or what ever, just turned back on! Doesn't make any more noise then my older scanner, No problem. Scans quickly, not MINUTES like reviews stated? Photo quality is fine as well as printed statements. Just got it up n running so will give an update in the future. Don't know what the other reviewers where talking about. Great little unit, not as bulky as my other Epson scanner was. As a former professional photographer, I have always found Epson to be my choice. Oh yes, price was right!

Very Happy with this Scanner
This scanner has a lot of pros. It's USB powered which is great. It's very light, so it's about as portable as a flatbed scanner can really be. It scans very fast. Image quality is good. The software was easy to install and simple to run. The quick buttons on the front of the scanner are very useful. Really, it's been great so far. The only minus I have seen is that when you put a paper up against the edge a tiny sliver will be cropped out. Even the instructions say so. Using the edge is a convenient way to line a paper up and so this is a small inconvenience if the image you are scanning goes all the way to the very edge of your sheet.

Useable but cheaply made
It scans quickly but the software is limiting. Their basic scan software isn't user friendly, offers nothing in the way of customization, has no manipulative actions available. It also is very thin plastic and I don't think that it will last 20 years like my last one did. The only reason I changed was because the Epson scan software for it doesn't recognize the scanner since I had to reload everything into a new SDD - the old one just died.

Good budget scanner for simple scans
Flatbed scanner with easy to use software that can do some basic photo editing. USB powered so 1 less cable to deal with. I bought a separate photo editing software. This is perfect for occasional scanning, simple scanning, and if you are on a budget. My old one was a different brand, lasted 20 years with better software, scans negatives but cost $300 then.

Dies After 10 Days; Randomly Crashes on Windows; Will Require Complete SYSTEM RESTART to Fix
The media could not be loaded. ***FIFTY-FOURTH DAY UPDATE***Device completely bricked. A very flimsy, useless piece of paper, attached to the scanner head, came loose and now jams the scanner header every time it does a scan. Video attached. So, for whatever you pay, you only get a scanner for two months. That's like a rental.***EIGHTEEN DAY UPDATE***The "scan" button is grayed out mysteriously, and I can't scan anymore. The "preview" button works perfectly, and utilizes the actual physical device, but "scan", absolutely does not work. Repeat fix procedure from Fifteen-Day-Update: Fixed.***FIFTEEN DAY UPDATE***Epson scanner software errors out on connection everytime. In order to fix: Remove epson driver from device manager, uninstall epson software, delete user/appdata folder and program files dirs, remove every entry containing the word "epson" from the registry editor (start->run->regedit).Failure to do ANY of the above will mean that the Epson scanner is permanently broken for ~that~ particular computer. So, either fix that computer, or find another computer for some ~200 scans before breaking again.***THIRTEEN DAY UPDATE***After physically repairing the scanner, I now get this error: "epson scanner scan button grayed out". If you google it, you will find thousands of others with the same exact problem. THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS.***TEN DAY UPDATE***I have been using the Epson Scanner for only ten days. It is official BRICKED; its drivers are no longer working on the machine it is connected to. Other machines work, which means it's a driver issue -- but uninstalling the driver WILL NOT FIX IT. That means, YOU HAVE TEN DAYS BEFORE EPSON SCANNER BREAKS, per computer. Good luck. All you get when you run Epson Scanner, after this period, is just a small, little box that says "Epson", and without any functionality whatsoever.***INITIAL REVIEW***Initially, I was impressed at this light-weight, sleek solution. But then I started to actually use it. After only a few days of a use, the biggest complaint is this: it crashes, randomly, nothing can connect to it (epson software or windows fax&scan), the lights won't turn on, etc.., and the only way to return it to normal is to completely close all applications and restart your system.Uh, yeah, since I'm just scanning as a background activity to other primary activities (since it takes 7 minutes to do as can), this is incredibly annoying. Can I give a negative star rating?

Great product
What a great product.I have always had good luck with Epson products and this is no exception.Simple to use; intuitive steps; excellent quality scans. It is light, portable, and doesn’t need outside power - it powers off the USB port of your laptop.I have struggled with the cheap scanner that’s part of my printer for years. This will save me.I don’t want complicated steps. I want to push a button, scan a document, and be done with it.This thing is great.

Works great with Epson Scan 2
About 15 years ago I bought an Epson Perfection V33 scanner It served my needs until it stopped working. I recently ordered a Perfection V19 -II as a replacement. I am completely satisfied with it.Epson has stripped down its software to eliminate unnecessary features and improve the essentials. The scans are great! One does need to install the Epson Scan 2 software to get the most out of the device. Make sure when downloading the drivers from the Epson.com site that you select a package that includes Epson Scan 2.I especially value the "Correct Document Skew" setting. If one scans in a document with this setting active the lines of text are made horizontal. Then, cropping to the desired size needs no further straightening. The three images show this feature in operation. In no case was the image rotated after the scan.

USB Hub Resolution
After 14 months, I got an error message that I couldn't resolve, and was unable to hard reset. I thought the unit was dead, but finally got it working when I connected the scanner directly to the computer instead of using a hub as I had before. It's working now and does a good job.
