Enough grip to not slide around. But difficult to get corners into place.
I still wish I could have found the original Belkin back cover model from many years ago. But this was a decent alternative. The textured back cover gives my fingers some friction without a lot of actual clenching. The curled edges really cover all 4 edges of the iPad.The only two minor issues which cost it a star.First was getting the iPad completely inserted. It is a very tight fit. I used a fork tine to lever two of the corners into place. But now that it's on, I don't anticipate ever taking it off. If there's a trick, they sure not say anything in the non-existent "User Guide"Second. The case covers the edges completely, but are raised enough that the Smart Cover sometimes don't lie flat completely. I have to wiggle the Smart Cover around so the magnets trigger the iPad's sleep mode. Maybe a new cover won't have such slack, but mine is a few years old and the hinges are looser. It's only been a week. We'll see if this thing holds up like the old Belkin cover (5 years and counting).

Quality Purchase. Works with iPad 2.
I bought this to replace my last Blason case, which was also a snap-on-back, similar to this one. My previous one, though, was black and much, much thinner. Pieces of it started to just chip off over time until it barely stayed on the iPad (now, granted, this took several years). This particular case feels much more durable than my last one and does not seem like it would be easy to chip. It also has a textured back, not smooth, which I wasn't expecting and wasn't sure I'd like at first but ultimately I like it better as it makes the iPad feel more stable in my hand. I use it on an iPad 2 and the fit was like a glove. The case does wrap onto the front a little bit (about a quarter inch or slightly less) which helps keep it sealed securely to the iPad. Works just fine with the smart cover and all ports and the speaker are fully accessible and exposed. Quality purchase.

Perfect
I really like how the protective cover fits my 4th Generation iPad. It is formed perfectly to allow easy access to the on/off button, mic, charging port, screen lock/rotate switch and the volume button. I like the rough textured feel of it (makes me feel like I have a better grip on it). The silicone is thicker at each of the corners giving better protection to the iPad, since it seems that most of the time if an iPad is dropped it will land on the corner for some reason .The only thing I don't like about it is the cover doesn't cover the left side edge of the iPad, which to some people this will be a plus if they put the pad on a stand or keypad. I'm very happy with it and I would buy it again.

Close, but not quite
I just received the new iPad as a gift, so wanted to cover it like my original iPad with a rubberized backing. I like this type of cover because it provides a better grip while holding the iPad. This one is fairly clear, so I can even read the inscription engraved on the back of mine. All of the cut-outs are good - right place and proper access - but along left hand side (when the button is on the bottom) the maker left most of that edge exposed. I have no idea why they opted to make it like this - my last one went all the way around the iPad - but it's the one big downside. I tend to hold my iPad mostly in landscape mode with the button to the right, so that means the exposed edge is resting on my thumbs/hands, which is not very comfortable. Because the new iPad is much slimmer, the edges are much sharper, so this was a big driver for me going the route of back cover. Again, not sure why they did it this way since there's no reason it couldn't go all the way around, but now i'm learning to hold my iPad with the button to the left. This may not sound like much, but after a couple of years of reading my iPad a particular way, it seems odd to change. Overall I like the cover and would recommend it.

Love it! 4.9 if I could...
Just like the AXIOM smart cover, I think I hit both purchases for my ipad protection pretty spot on, on the first try! I give this one a 4 only because the lip comes over the edge just a hair more than I was expecting. I was a little nervous on how it would effect the smart covers placement, but it works out surprisingly well. I think because of the flexibility of the case (as opposed to the hard plastic ones) it has to come over a bit more to stay on. There may be just a teiny-tiny gap when the cover closes but it doesn't effect functionality at all, so I don't notice it. I particularly like the flexibility of the case because it has no chance of cracking like the hard ones, plus it feels softer and would allow for more 'spring' or 'shock-absorption' if I dropped it. I can also see the back, and my engraving very nicely, the frosted style does not affect clarity. In fact, I think it may actually accent it.

Get the blow dryer out
By far the best rubber cover I have seen. Excellent quality. It sat for 3 days because I couldn't get it on, the corners are extremely stiff. Then it clicked.... Use your blow dryer to warm and soften the corners before putting it on. The heat gives it just enough flexibility and it goes right on.

Good back cover for iPad 4 retina but leaves it unprotected in some areas
Very lightweight and seems sturdy. Protects all the corners but does not protect the left side of the iPad between the two corners (I guess where the front cover would attach). It's clear when you look at the closeups of the photos but I didn't pay attention. Fits my iPad 4 Retina perfectly; no issues with the cutouts. Overall a good cover.

The best minimal protection...
This is exactly what I was looking for. I have used other cases that cover both the front and the back, but have found that the front protection seems to get in the way during use. There is really nothing fancy about this, if you're looking to protect the majority of your iPad 2, 3, or 4, this would be a wise choice.I have not had the case long enough to state whether any discoloration occurs (like other reviews have mentioned). As long as it continues to protect and not fall apart, this review rating will not change.
