This is great nesting material, and you get a lot for your money. I set out newspapers on my table and pulled apart all the nesting material to make it easier for the birds to pick at. I put it in a large, metal suet holder and it worked out very well. I hung it on a Sheppard's hook that is next to my feeders and water fountain. The package comes with two separate packages of bedding. I only used one so far and I am happy that I have another bag on hand when it needs a refill. I highly recommend this product. You will be happy and so will your birds.

It is early spring and I thought I would encourage birds to nest in a couple bird houses I’ve put out last year. I looked out the window one day and spotted one of the squirrels going to great trouble to bundle up a huge ball of it and take to its lair. So the squirrels are eating the bird seed as well as taking the nesting material. It’s all gone now. I don’t think the birds got any. The product itself was adequate. It doesn’t look like much because it is vacuum packed. The pkg looks like a piece of paper it’s so thin. I was about to ask for a refund but I found it in a box about to be taken to recycling.

I was very happy when I received this package. It comes vacuum sealed and flattened out in a protective bag, but it immediately expands when you pull the material apart. Jute, cotton, straw all provide the necessary materials for a nest. I put it into a wicker container outside and now I'm just waiting for the birds to come. I love it!

Using in another bird cage

I purchased this nesting stuff hoping the birds would nest in my back yard. I lined a small wooden house with it. The birds and other critters took most of the nesting material elsewhere. It attracts more than just birds. It comes in a vacuumed sealed bag that offers more than it appeared at first. Good deal!

This is just a very small handful of trash. What a ripoff. It’s impossible to use it the way it comes to you. There’s no way to hang it up for the birds. It’s up to you to figure out a way to enclose it enough, yet still leave a way for the birds to access the material, and then figure out how to hang it in a tree. It looks like the handful of garbage that it is. There’s also not much variety in the material, just a little straw and a few small pieces of cotton. Seriously, it’s composed of trash. Definitely not worth the price. The nesting material I bought a few years ago had a lot more variety, including down, small feathers, and other soft materials that birds use to line their nests, and it was enclosed in a little cage with a hanger. If the vendor would do that with this material, and provide more soft nesting materials (not just cotton), then it might be worth the price.

Used some of it for an Easter project and placed the rest outside for the birds! Great quality and super soft to the touch. Birds will love it for their nests.

It works great for my finch birds when it’s nesting time they love this material.
