It took me a bit to figure out. You have to blow in mouth piece. My silly.brain thought it was a lip wrest to help you position. It does help.

Works for three notes.
Since different notes require slightly different blowing techniques and angles, this wind director is only good for notes 1, 2, and 3. Anything higher or lower progressively gets more "windy" in sound until no sound is produced at notes beyond 5 or bass 6. Playing in the second octave is impossible with this device.

Works perfectly on a regular standard flute!
I bought this for my standard flute, and was pleasantly surprised that it worked! I've never been able to make a sound with a flute, so this is a great workaround. Highly recommend!
