Best in it's class
I love SE products, huge fan of their V7 vocal, mine in vintage color. Held off for years on a boundary mic to place inside my kicks to enhance my recordings, and finally SE came out with the BL8, which has a selection of tones with the switches, currently using it as the only kick mic, inside a birch 22x18 by Mapex, you get attack, punch, and nice low end on the modern setting, which attenuates the muddy section of the drum that you end up EQing anyways, so saves you some time, and sounds great anyways. Fits perfectly on a Sonitus Kicker 4.0. Have yet to test it as a room mic, but they also have an omni version, which I would like to add to my collection.

Great product
I watched a lot of comparison videos and did a lot of research before I decided to go with this microphone but I am very glad I did this thing sounds phenomenal I would highly recommend this mic to anybody looking to upgrade their kick drum mic setup

Amazing area mic!
I use this to record a band in their regular jam space. It's very discreet and does an amazing job considering that you only need one mic and everyone can just adjust their own amps as they see fit. The major weakness is that it doesn't get low end punchy bass from drums or guitar quite as good as I'd like, but it's still amazing.
