Gokurakugai, Vol. 1

Beautiful art, and the manga did not come bent or anything!

These characters are designed very well and the stories feel very serial in almost a Buffy kinda way. Leaves me wanting more

If you have done any looking into this, then you will have probably seen the following statement: "They changed the story from the one shot and the one shot was better." As it turns out I fall into that camp. However, that is not to say this story is bad. I feel like they rush through it too much. There's a little humor, they find out about a case, they go to the location, they solve the problem, rinse and repeat. Its too formulaic, repetitive and most of all too quick. I think they do 4 cases here and that's just too much. It should be 2 adding more nuance to each case...IMO. Also, just on a more picky note, this isn't the most high quality manga you will ever own. You will know this when you feel the paper. It actually doesn't bother me at all but I'm sure it would for some. I just want to mention one more point. The art is ~FANTASTIC!~ For me, its a very pleasing art style and I enjoyed flipping through the pages just to see more of it! Ok, the final verdict. Well there are really 2 ways to go about this. First, the individual book. For fans of good manga art styles with an ok story and not the best paper, recommended! For people who dislike their manga with poor quality paper and sort of mediocre story, avoid. Second, the on going story. I have hope for this one. Though it may seem like I was being hard on this I'm very hopeful going forward. I realize this is Vol 1 and there is some setup that is needed. I really hope they explore more of the world of Gokurakugai in a way that is more consistent with the one-shot as that slight splash of fantasy in a more gritty realistic world was unique. Anyways, the point is there is a lot of potential here and Ill be sticking around for a bit to see how it goes and it is worth doing so for most people on this series if you feel any kind of attachment to it, IMO.

Love it and the visuals are INSANE. Manga layout too, buy it and join the fandom. It also came in good quality.

Im collecting this series for my children and they love it. They say it keeps there attention and the enjoy the characters.
