Good product
I have not had much luck with different brands of coffee machines lasting for long so I decided to go with a GE product as I have several GE appliances in the kitchen and so far I am very happy this coffee machine. Easy to use, bold brew, hot coffee and consistently tastes great. Use my machine everyday and take brewed coffee to work. I have noticed that when pouring water into the machine to make coffee, the water container is located/positioned oddly so sometimes water does spill but otherwise it really is not a big inconvenience. Price is very reasonable for how much I use this machine.

It makes the wake up juice!
it's been quite a while since I've purchased a coffee machine. for the longest time, i was drinking french press or using my chemex to do pour over which both yield a delicious cup of coffee to be sure, but sometimes I want some coffee and don't want to have to deal with that whole ritual for whatever brewing method. especially during the work week, adding an extra half hour to the morning routine. I purchased this machine so i could dump some fresh ground in the top before bed, set a timer and have it be ready in the morning before i start working. I got the version with the Metal Carafe, so far it's been great. no issues brewing at all. The Carafe keeps the coffee pretty hot for a good while. The carafe is a little more difficult to clean as the top has kind of a lip to it, but nothing a proper bottle brush hasn't been able to handle. the one complaint I have is due to the slightly awkward shape of the Carafe, pouring fresh water from the carafe, into the machine can get messy if youre not careful. you have to pour it in from the side and then still, since it has that little lip, you cant get all of the water into the machine. theres just a very little bit still left in the bottom. no big deal, i just empty that back in the sink and then start the brew. as far as taste. it's drip coffee... it taste the same as any other coffee I've had from any other drip coffee machine... it's nothing special, but it doesn't suck. I use the reusable metal mesh filters that came with the machine in the interest of convenience. time will tell how well it holds up to daily abuse but so far so good.

DO NOT Buy!! Poor quality and breaks after 60 days!
After extensive research for a programmable coffee maker w Stainless steel carafe, I noticed ALL reviewed had negative feedback and there is only 1 company that offers a half decent coffee maker (Bunn). But my other half decided on a cheaper GE plastic coffee maker because, well it was GE. What could go wrong for $90.00 + a Asurion warranty for 15.00 ?? Well, our 1st order arrived broken. It was returned. Our second one arrived fine, and right out of the box we followed instructions and set it up and the coffee was EH. Not hot. Not fresh tasting. But whatever, right? Well for the last 3 weeks, please refer to the photos. This plastic, foreign made molded piece of junk LEAKS, the delayed brew doesn’t work, and the coffee still doesn’t come out fresh and hot. We watched the video and followed directions, precisely as stated. I recorded the leak, after following instructions. It’s posted here. Using only the reusable filter, which came with this machine. I filed a warranty claim w Asurion 2 weeks ago and have not gotten a reply. Zilch. Nada. Zip. Nothing. So don’t waste your money buying this coffee maker. Sure the programming is easy, but WHY WAStE your money??? Thankfully we have a percolator that was 35.-, (Farberware) that requires 10 minutes of patience but every morning gives us Hot, fresh made coffee. Every morning. Purchased 3 yrs ago. That’s money well spent. The GE coffee maker is not recommended. Spend your money elsewhere, and be sure the internals are made of metal, not cheap plastic. And that the carafe holds heat, which this carafe doesn’t. And that the warmer plate keeps the coffee warm and shuts off automatically after 2-3hrs. This coffee maker has none of these features. Lesson learned. Now to hope we hear back from Asurion or Amazon. Fingers crossed. Update: still have not heard back from Asurion, Amazon, and learned that since we purchased this coffeemaker on Oct. 31, it’s out of warranty. Yes, unless you have a tree that grows money, don’t waste yours on this coffee maker. Buyer beware.

1-4 cup function does not work as intended. Still a good product.
I bought the coffee maker and after about 10 brews I have not seen any leakage like the majority of the negative reviews say. However, I will say the “1-4 cups only” button seems to not function as intended. When I brew my coffee and the “1-4 cups” comes up on the HMI, and I hit brew, it will continue to brew to the full 12 cups. Every. Single. Time. But it does look nice doe

AN EXCELLENT COFFEE MAKER
Been through so many coffee makers over the years. This one has everything I was looking for in a coffee maker. Stainless steel carafe, Programmable to start brewing at the time I set. Large clock display. There is a heat adjusting warming plate. The carafe is the perfect size too. Comes with a reusable filter!

Pros & Cons
Selected this because of 2 main features - time options for keeping coffee hot after brewing and able to pour coffee before full brewing cycle finishes. Both features are good. Coffee temp is fine for us; a little too hot for me but most coffee makers are. Easy to use and clean. Not crazy about cone-shaped filters. I was not expecting the amount of steam that escapes during brewing. The coffee maker sits on the countertop with overhead cabinets above. First time that I saw the steam escape, I thought the top hadn’t closed properly so we check now to make sure it’s fully closed. Some days a small amount of steam escapes and other days it rolls out almost the full brewing time. I don’t have an open area where I can move it, so I’m looking for a replacement. I’ve used drip coffee makers for 35-40 years and have never had this issue before. Very disappointing.

Not for milk users
There are plenty of reviews of this product saying that it doesn't keep coffee hot. Other counter comments saying the coffee is steaming. I think maybe what's going on here is that this coffee maker keeps black coffee at the perfect temp for drinking right away, this is why I gave it the extra star. The thing is though if you're like me and you like to put a lot of milk in your coffee it's barely body temperature by the time you drink it. If you let the coffee sit for a half hour or 45 minutes before you get to it, It's even worse. I got the insulated metal version and the heating pad and outside of the carafe is not even warm to the touch after 45 minutes, the coffee inside does stay warm. Warm... Not hot. There is slight steam coming out when I pour it but by the time the milk gets in there, forget about it. After a week of drinking warm milk coffee, I've just decided to return it. Another criticism of this design, again I've seen other people mention this, the way that you pour water in is just awkward and poorly thought out. There's very little room at the top to put the water in, and with the metal carafe, the top rim is angled inward so you can't even pour all of the water out. To fill the basin I have to use a water pitcher, and even that is awkward and spills out. Half the time the lid doesn't stay open so I have to use two hands. I just think this coffee pot maybe was designed to look modern and compact and that came at the cost of ease of use and function. I'm not the type of shopper that complains about the stuff I buy very often, but again, after using this for a week I'm sitting here with body temp coffee.
