I had to do some sharpening and the handle could have been about six inches longer

Upon opening, the first thing I noticed was that the engraving was not etched evenly. Some spots were faded.The second thing I noticed, quite obviously, was that the hatchet wobbled on the haft. I will have to add a shim to secure the hatchet to the haft before I can use it.I realize that it was only a $40 hatchet but a $10 hatchet that you buy from Harbor Freight's fit and finish was much better.I haven't used it yet, so I can't give a review of the metal's quality but it was sharp. Just have to fix before I can find out. For the price, first impressions weren't great.

The media could not be loaded.  It throws great, but I noticed right away that there was a lot of play to the head of the axe. First couple throws evened it out but it quickly got worse. All over decent axe. Keeps a decent edge just be prepared to have to rehang it. It appears to be getting hung in a very wet climate. And if you have any kind of heat you’re probably going to need to rehang it.

This is an amazing piece! The only upsetting thing is I opened the box took out the axe and the head of the axe is loose from the handle, you definitely can’t use this piece I’ll just be putting it on display

The hand axe isn’t crazy heavy but has a nice heft. It is definitely reminiscent of the old axe’s of the Viking Age and the selling point for me is its sturdiness. It’s definitely not a toy! A+

My wife and I own a mobile axe throwing business and I just received my viking battle axe in the mail. I specifically inquired about it for throwing and man this axe does not disappoint! Opened up the box and began throwing it in my mobile arena right away. Let me tell you... If you don't feel like a real viking even holding this axe (much less throwing it...), then nothing will! It flies straight and true, makes a hard but not crushing impact and sticks in my target wood quite well even when it occasionally hits a knot.I threw it hard, soft, one arm, two arms, underhand, behind my back, double rotation, and as improperly as I could (intentionally the wrong way so I would hit the handle rather than the blade). Unless you are TRYING to hurt yourself, you cannot. Handle construction is solid, and feels so good as a tool, weapon, and even a thrower leaving your hand. No hot hands or blisters. Sized perfectly for all hands. Weight is on point and easy for almost anyone to throw it. This thing is sharp so don't think this is just some collectible that won't cut. It definitely will and I tested it. It CHOPS and CUTS EASILY so BE CAREFUL!Solid weapon. I will definitely be using it for my axe throwing business!
