Great addition to my listening experience!
Originally purchased a new centre speaker for my surround sound, as I was experiencing a muffled sound on some programs on my t.v. or DVD player. Found the speaker was on sale at the manufacturer's level, at a reasonable price for a better quality speaker, and bought it. Decided to try the two front (left and right) speakers as well. Reports I read indicated a woofer speaker was no longer required and that they had a good sound on their own, including listening to music as well as programs on t.v. Found these reports to be accurate when I hooked up my speakers, and am enjoying the improved sound system very much.

Simply fantastic
These Paradigm SE Atoms are simply fantastic! Crystal clear sound at any volume, rich, full sound, solid Canadian build quality. They really open up at mid/high volume levels, but still sound above average for the price point at low volumes too. The woofers take a bit more time to break in as they are pretty stiff, but bass is super tight and accurate right out of the box. The aluminum tweeters add a surprising amount of brightness for paradigms, and really have impressive extension and clarity up top. These monitor se atoms really excel in the mids, which are just glorious and buttery smooth. Think Elac b5/b6 but better. Bass is deep and full as well, although true bass heads may want a bit more.Outstanding for music, but also better than expected for tv and movies as well. I have always loved the mid-rich, full, clean, balanced sound of Paradigms and these SE Atoms don’t disappoint. The smooth extension of the highs from the aluminum tweeters really is a pleasant surprise too. I’m using them in a 2.0 set up for mostly music and occasional action movie. You can compare these to the Klipsch RP line, Infinity Reference, KEF, Elac, and others in this price range like I did side by side and the Paradigms win easily for me. Their silky smooth mids, clarity, volume, and non-fatiguing sound are unbeatable at this price. Highly recommend. I like them so much I bought 2 pairs! True entry level audiophile sound at a bargain price.

Audiophile Speakers at a budget price.
I needed to upgrade my near field studio monitors / office speakers. After a few reviews, I decided on the Monitor SE Atoms. WOW.Using a Topping PA3 as the amplifier and my Audient ID14 Studio DAC, it's like I've been slightly blind most of my life and someone just handed me corrective lenses. The dynamics and distance I'm now hearing in recording mixes are like nothing I expected. Another thing is the low volume performance is an absolute joy. You don't need to pound your eardrums to get a satisfying sound out of these, especially when used as near field monitors.Bottom line, if you appreciate higher fidelity audio and don't want to spend thousands, you can grab a pair of these, a class D amplifier and a DAC and be really happy for under $500.
