Wired to Wireless CarPlay is possible with this Adapter.
I'm going to be 2000% percent honest, in that I had very low expectations on this item. But, I was MORE than pleasantly surprised when not only did it function flawlessly as advertised for the price, but it is now my preferred way to connect to my vehicle when on the go. The faster processor seems to have solved what previous model reviews have said was a large delay in the response and touch actions. That all works great! Sound quality is amazing, and everything is responsive and fully functional. I have only tested once with Android Auto from a friend's phone, but it appears to work equally well. From the CarPlay side of things, I have over 100 hours of drive time on this unit, and I LOVE IT! 100% would recommend!

Works well
UPDATE after talking to the company. They ended up sending some instructions to help troubleshoot and a link to access and make changes on the device itself. Since following their instructions it has worked perfectly.I’ve been using this for a little over a month. Sometimes it connects right away and works great. Other times the vehicle won’t recognize it at all and it doesn’t matter how many times I try to unplug it to reset it. Not sure if it’s the device or my vehicle but it appears others have had the same issue, so I’ll let you do the math. I wouldn’t buy it again and would’ve returned it except I was on vacation and missed the window.

Dangerous Product - Almost Caused Fire in My Car
I’ve been using the Carlinkit 5.0 for about a year now. While it does work when it connects, the experience has been far from smooth. I often have to unplug and replug it to get it to work properly, and it tends to disconnect during longer trips. It also gets quite hot at times. Unfortunately, by the time I realized these issues were consistent, it was past the return period on Amazon, so I decided to keep using it rather than waste my money. But today, something much worse happened. While driving, I suddenly noticed a burning smell in my car’s interior. Initially, I thought it was exhaust from another vehicle. A few minutes later, my entire car was filled with smoke. I looked down and saw that the Carlinkit 5.0 was literally smoking! I had to pull over immediately and throw the device out the window.I’ve always loved gadgets that convert wired Apple CarPlay to wireless, but after this terrifying experience, I’m not sure if I can trust Carlinkit products again. This was not just an inconvenience—it was a serious safety hazard. Use with extreme caution!

Fine but flawed
This product worked great out of the box. Touch latency was terrible and it took a while to connect, but it was relatively reliable. Then I noticed that sometimes, carplay just wouldn't launch after the phone connected to the device via Bluetooth. The only way to fix it was to reset by unplugging and plugging it back in. But because the normal initial connection speed is slow, I wouldn't normally realize the need for resetting until I was already driving, meaning I sat in silence until I could get to a stop light to safely reset it.I also noticed extreme latency (both touch and sound output) in the 5 to 10 second range during a long trip, causing my navigation directions to not be read until I was already past my exit. I think it was due to heat, my car was pretty toasty inside when I got in and my ac was still working on cooling it back down. I've noticed a general correlation between heat and increased latency, though it feels like an automotive product should be able to handle some heat?Overall it's a mixed bag! When it works, it's great. I've switched back to wired carplay, at least for the summer. I plan on trying it again once the weather cools down, and possibly trying a firmware update to see if that helps.

Good upgrade
Upgraded to this from the 3.0 model after a year and a half due to a 4:30 AM chai mishap. As an electronic, it seems like a fair reaction that having half a cup of sugar-leaf-milk dumped into its ports causes a total and instant frying.I was expecting more of the same from this device but this really was an actual upgrade! This version connects so much more reliably and faster. I haven’t had it go into an endless connecting loop once and I haven’t had to unplug and replug it at all, which was at least a weekly occurrence with the old version. I get the occasional sound blip but I don’t expect a that level of perfection from Bluetooth. I like the look of this version better too.I ended up buying port covers for this one to hopefully prevent another accident so that’s the only thing I’d love to see the manufacturer include in the future because spills happen in cars and, at least in mine, the cup holders and the CarPlay ports are next door neighbors!PS, if you’re trying to figure out the difference between the various “versions” of the 5.0 out there and why they’re different prices, I did the research for you—the specs are all exactly the same, just the seller is different.

Disconnects in 5 minutes
I thought is was great at first. It booted up automatically and my android auto screen and maps appeared in about 10 seconds in my Tacoma with my Samsung Note phone. But every time I try to use it 5 minutes later the screen would tell me to try unplugging and reconnecting. I see a lot of reviews saying the same thing. There are no updates available and the software available to check for updates shows as a virus threat on my phone so sorry this is going back. UPDATE The company did reach out to me to help me fix the issues but I already returned the unit to stay in the return window. 5 stars for the company.

A very solid device
I installed this on my 2019 F-150 with Sync 3. Initially, it did not work very well at all, and I was beginning to think that the reviews and YouTube producers were all wrong about this device. Before I reached out to Carlinke (the seller) I did some online due-diligence and discovered that there were a LOT of F-150 owners having trouble with their Sync 3 head-units. Thankfully, Ford has recently updated their software and after I updated my unit, the Carlink device is working perfect. I have a few different wireless setups in various vehicles. I can safely say this may be the best one of the lot. Buy with confidence.

Working without any issue
I am satisfied with this product. 4 out of 5 is because of its high cost.
