When I considered planners I knew I needed flexibility and the ability to customize. This is why I decided on the Day-Timer.
I've been looking for another planner for a few months. That dampens my organizational skills. I usually use a Franklin Covey product. It's high quality and what I'm accustomed to since that's the training course I took through my company years ago. When I considered planners I knew I needed flexibility and the ability to customize. This is why I decided on the Day-Timer with Undated Starter Set. The first thing I did was customize it to include what I use most, in an order that feels natural to me. You can further customize the planner with pages you need (seven ring 8.5 x 5.5 size) that can easily be purchased online (yes the Franklin Covey pages fit. Me: For example as long as it's a seven ring or you have a hole punch, you can just keep moving your address book instead of copying it as long as the data is still valid.) or in from office supply store like Office Depot for example. Office Depot is where I purchased additional Notes pages. The Day-Timer has a high quality look and feel. It's customized just for me. I could've started it this month. However, I'm detail orientated. Therefore I backdated it to January and included all my back-data. It's budget friendly. My new Day-Timer is an exceptional planner. I'm exceedingly happy with this purchase.

Just what I was looking for zippered planner cover.
Love my new planner cover. I wasn’t sure it would hold all my stuff and the rest of the year (6 months) 1 page per day calendar, but it does comfortably. It’s also a pretty brown color. It comes with an undated monthly with daily calendar, a 7-hole page marker ruler, plastic biz card page, and ziplock page for pens.

Got exactly what I wanted.
Finding a reasonably priced, quality Day Planner has been such a hassle lately. The ones I like @ the brick and mortar office supply stores are either way over priced, or anything reasonably priced is of poor quality. Traditonally I go with a black leather version, but wanted to try brown. The materials and finish are good and just what I was expecting. I am very happy with it. I just wish the various makers of the calendar inserts would offer a wider selection of the available styles of daily calendar inserts that I want individually, without having to buy it along with all sorts of other forms of calendars and other documents that I have no need for and eventually recycle....but that is another issue.

Stay on schedule
Received this Day-Timer planner about 3 months ago and love it. If you're like me; do not trust putting everything into my phone where it can be lost, stolen, the battery goes kaput or a dozen other scary possibilities, this is for you. On the outside, while it won't ever be mistaken for genuine leather, it still has a great look and feel. Inside, it appears well made with ring binders and card slots. I also purchased a pack of 'daily' planner sheets and set it up to suit my needs with a monthly calendar at a glance and daily planning sheets with ample room for notes. There are tabs for months and alphabetical for contacts and a notepad. There is a handy plastic 'Today' divider so you turn to your daily schedule without searching. My schedule can get pretty hectic at times but this little book keeps me confident that I've got my bases covered and am on time or each appointment.

Disappointing, perhaps acceptable
Pros and cons: CON - To say that I am pleased would be an overstatement. I first purchased this planner binder 13 years ago, but the bottom rivet holding the ring set broke loose, so time to get a new one. The pictures and descriptions exactly matched my current organizer. However, several things in the description and pictures are misleading or incorrect. In my first one, the pockets on the inside left were 5.5" wide, large enough to insert my passport sideways into the bottom pocket. In this newly purchased one, the pockets are only 4.5", insufficiently wide unless I insert vertically which would cover the other pockets. Also, no pen loop. Both discrepancies in the description and the pictures. Lastly, on the old one, the binder edge seam was overlaid on both the front and back side. In this replacement, the backside material merely overlays onto the front. Pictures of both the old and newly purchased one are attached. Easy to tell them apart. PRO - the 7-rings seem to riveted securely and are compatible with other 7-ring products of this size.

I did not purchase this organizer for the inserts but I do think they are nice. Compatible with Franklin Covey Classic size inserts & ...
Undated calendars with lines in the boxes & monthly tabs: I very much appreciate that feature for this! I did not purchase this organizer for the inserts but I do think they are nice. Compatible with Franklin Covey Classic size inserts & the corresponding 7-hole punch. Fits half letter size pages (5.5x8.5) if you want to make your own inserts. I like not having to trim & waste paper just to get something to fit in here, unlike many popular planner sizes out there. Rings seem sturdy & inside storage pockets probably won't hold a whole lot but they're tight enough so nothing should slide around much. I stick a single index card in each slot as references for the rest of my binder content. Pen loop inside does what it needs to do- I keep a wet-erase marker in there.I would say it's quite large if you're looking for an organizer/planner to keep with you "on the go". I bought this for keeping all of my dungeons & dragons paperwork together and couldn't be happier.

Bought Amazon "used," and it was worth it!
I needed a planner for a new job, and nearly 18 years ago I had a very expensive Franklin Covey that I miss terribly. This Day Timer version is a WONDERFUL, inexpensive, but not cheap looking alternative. Additionally, I bought the "used" warehouse version for $10 off. While it had one line of writing in the address book section (which white out can fix), the rest was perfectly intact and complete. The distressed pleather cover has nice feel and appearance, the zipper is sturdy, and overall, it was a great buy.
