I would recommend using warm water and a sponge with some dish soap to clean and try and avoid fully submerging the lid so it doesn't retain water through the porthole near the pull cord. This will ensure proper cleaning and drying

The beef would need to be thawed and cut into small pieces. This product is an alternative solution to a quick food processor but relies on a cord pull system to function so I would be careful of overfilling and about the type of foods you use it for. Soft ground meat shouldn't be a problem, but things like steak may not be the best to use inside this chopper.
