Phone Saver
This product is great if you have cracked your phone screen and the touch screen doesn't work. It allows you to plug the microusb end into the microusb port of your phone (where you would normally charge it). The other end, you plug your USB mouse into. A mouse cursor on your phone screen appears and you can use your mouse as you would on a PC. This can allow you to unlock your phone and back up anything you need including pictures, contacts and anything else important. It also allows you to look at messages, reply to messages, open apps and use them. The great thing is that it also allows drag and hold function of a mouse, allowing to unlock 'pattern locked' android phones. If you need to backup your phone and to backup it requires your phone to be unlocked, use this product, unlock your phone, change screen lock settings in your phone settings to the longest time period possible, remove the product from your phone, plug your normal USB cable that connect to your PC and follow normal back up procedures. This was tested on a Sony Xperia Z Ultra running Android 5.0.

data saving device for smashed touchscreen phones
Last week the screen on my dads phone (a sony xperia z3) got smashed and it was locked so effectively useless as we couldn't access his contacts or photos looking online I saw I could try connecting the phone to a mouse using an OTG cable to unlock it so my computer could access the files. After unsuccessfully trying to buy a cable in person at a well known high street retailer and being laughed out of the store I decided to buy the item online. This item connected the mouse to the phone no problem I was able to swipe up and hey presto access my dads photos and contacts were accessible and I was able to save them on my PC. so good I think I will buy another :)

Does the job.
It works what more can you ask?Well it could do with being more robust for a start. I also am not sure I like the extra long mini USB connector either, because it makes it hard to judge if it is in correctly or not. I will update this if needed, with use, because I worry about how long it will last.Still I can recommend this.

Well worth the money (to recover data from a broken smart phone!)
I used this to connect a standard (PC) mouse to an Android smart phone (the touch-screen on the phone was cracked and not responding to touch but you could still see the images / icons etc. so the phone couldn't be used at all in that state). When the mouse is plugged in, you see a standard mouse arrow on the screen and can use the mouse to click on Icons and select options as normal, just like using a PC. This allowed me to recover data from the phone, create backups and send other data to another phone / laptop via Bluetooth.A lifesaver ! Well worth the money !

I like it. Also I can with it copy music ...
Does the job. I use it to connect my camera to the smartphone so I could use spare space on the phone for photos, or upload them. Does the job. Works well. I like it. Also I can with it copy music from my phone into pendrive and stick it to the car radio.

Works on Xpera Z2 tablet
Bought this to load files onto my (superb) Sony Xperia Z2 tablet. Worked fine. You still need to navigate to the drive using a file explorer and copy/cut/paste files to where you want them. looks like there are some Apps that smooth this process but haven't done my homework on this yet...

Did not function with Sony Xperia Z 10.1-inch tablet
Described as being compatible with several devices including Sony's Xperia Z, that was the sole reason for its purchase. Unfortunately, I was unable to get it to work with a specific Kingston memory stick with which it was tried. The adapter worked perfectly with Toshiba's Excite Pro owned by another family member with the same memory stick still connected and should work with others that fully support OTG over USB, a description that should include Sony's Xperia Z tablet.I had queried this with the ultimate supplier who stated that the Z tablet was not a compatible device and they had never intended to suggest compatability. The conflict of information is yet to be resolved.POSTSCRIPT @ 2-2014The initial attempts with a USB 1.0 memory stick all failed with any adapter used with my own tablet but succeeded with some (one was returned) when using a USB 2.0 stick. My own tablet currently uses Android 4.3 but the borrowed one has 4.2.1. I assume that support for USB 1.0 devices is non-existent with my own tablet.
