Promised Neverland, Vol. 1

I don't read much manga these days, but when I saw this pop up in my recommendations one day, I decided to buy it despite being unfamiliar with the title or author. That impulsive decision led to becoming engrossed in one of the greatest stories ever drawn in manga form. Shirai-sensei's suspenseful tale of these intelligent, happy children seemingly growing up in an orphanage surrounded with love from each other and from "Mama", their caregiver -- and then the REAL story of who and where they are -- is thrilling, exciting, hopeful, empowering, disheartening, disturbing, saddening, and everything else you could hope for in a good story. Demizu-sensei's art is perfectly matched to the unique story that is The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland), with incredible detail that you would not expect from a currently running Weekly Shounen Jump series. While the manga does run in Weekly Shounen Jump, the story is one that both males and females will find worthwhile. Seemingly every chapter ends with a cliffhanger, some new development carefully planned to coincide with the end of the title's allotted page count, and reading it online each week is only for those who can handle the anxiety of waiting a full week for the latest chapter's cliffhanger to be resolved and a new one to take its place. I really want to say so much about this manga, but I don't want to say anything that gives away even the tiniest hint about its content or secrets. So, please do yourself a great favor and buy the first volume. If you're interested enough to read this review, I will guarantee that you will enjoy the story and find yourself, like me, on the edge of your seat waiting for the next installment.

Having read all of The Promised Neverland it is fun to return to where it all began. The amount of small clues that are scattered throughout Volume 1 that I picked up on this time around blew my mind. It is clear from the start Neverland had a clear story in mind and a detailed plot laid out from the very beginning. And it's definitely worth a second read through to pick up on the smaller details. The Promised Neverland is an unusual shonen series as it it is far more horror and psychological orintatined then what is typical of a the Shonen Jump magazine. I won't spoil anything but I say that the series earns it's older teen rating and is not for those who are easily frightened. The protagonist Emma, Ray and Norman have a very fun dynamic to their friendship with each having very distinct personalities. Personally Emma is my favorite as she is so true to her core values despite the scrappy hand of cards life had dealt her. I love love love this book I can never seem to put it down and it keeps me busy when I have nothing to do this because awesome and it's about a story about an orphanage that doesn't seem right there are three or four kids named Emma Ray and Norman and they plan to escape for their fate they have a mother who's not really what she seems it's that's all I'm going to say for that story but honestly I do recommend for this this is the best book I've ever read or Manga I really like like this book the illustration is amazing and the art is just out of the world this book I would give it five stars it has amazing storyline doesn't go off topic and has potential I recommend buying this and thank you

Great manga for a great price. Excellent story

This manga has only been going for a little over a year, but it’s already one of my favorite manga. I’m currently reading the weekly chapters on Viz’s official website, but I got the physical copy of the book to look at the extra stuff and to support the authors. It’s been a blast re-reading it, as I’ve noticed a lot of things I didn’t before. This also very suspenseful, gaining the nickname by fans, ‘The promised cliffhanger’. From chapter one and onward this manga always keeps me at the edge of my seat. This manga is a must read. It’s got beautiful art, great characters, unique story, kinda creepy atmosphere, and very suspenseful.

the book came in good condition and was a good read, the only thing that did get me off guard was that it is a shonen jump manga, which come in the same size as *One Punch Manga* and i was expecting it to come in the size of a *Tokyo Ghoul Manga* or *Love is Hard For Otaku* you cam clearly see this in the price since the smaller ones are less than or about $10 in which the big ones cost more than $10 or around $11. this is my fault for not checking size so other than this the book was worth the price and i an amazing read!!

This is a great start to a manga storyline with a little mystery and some intelligent and industrious children. The story takes place in a large orphanage that at first seems loving and idyllic for children with no family of their own, but it’s hiding a sinister secret that some of the oldest and smartest of the children have discovered. The artwork is dynamic and the pacing moves forward at a good pace. The characters are interesting and I’m looking forward to continuing with the series.

Mike drop. This was amazing!! I had already seen both seasons of the show and was looking for something to read, and I was hoping the manga would be just as good as the show if not better. It was such amazing art work and it was very pretty! I have volumes 1-3 rn and I'm currently waiting to order the rest, 100/10 do recommend reading first then watching the show, but it doesn't matter which order u do it in!! Although, fair warning, some might find this creepy or alarming in some situations so I advise you to be prepared for anything and everything, enjoy the read ppl! (From my kid)

Yo pedí el producto en ingles para mejorar mi nivel en este idioma, llevo pocas paginas pero la historia engancha y el vocabulario no es muy complicado para alguien como yo que quiera perfeccionar su nivel de ingles y tengo que decir que mi nivel no es muy alto. La calidad de los dibujos, del material de las hojas y de las tapas es excepcional. Es una buena compra.

A série começa bem, bastante informação e duas grandes reviravoltas já na primeira parte, ilustrações bem feitas e uma história com bastante potencial, além de deixar várias perguntas e mistérios.
