Good if it holds up
This works very well for cutting about 1/3 of the spine a magazine like BHG or New Yorker.I do worry that I will have to buy another one of these after cutting a few hundred magazines, though maybe sharpening the blade will give me another few months. My use case is pretty hard on the paper cutter, but for this price it seems to be the best overall price/performance.

Good Quality Cutter
I needed an upgrade from my plastic 12" X-acto cutter. The Deck appears to be solid hardwood, looks like Birch. The 1/2" Grid marks are not printed, but are cut into the surface approximately 0.75mm deep x 0.75mm wide. The cutting arm is cast metal, it must be aluminum based on weight and the fact that it is not magnetic. The blades on the arm and table are steel. The cutter has a block of wood below the cutting surface to prevent your hands from touching the blade while carrying the cutter. Cuts in paper and vinyl are very smooth. Overall I am very impressed. Reminds me of the old-school quality cutter from grade school (40 years back). I do not see the Swingline logo anywhere on this. But there is an Acco Brands sticker on the bottom with the swingline webside. There is an "Ingento" Logo at the base.

Well-made paper cutter
This is a solid metal and wood paper cutter that should last longer than I will. It replaced a much fancier-looking, mainly plastic, paper cutter in our home office that fell apart after a few years of occasional use. I would give it five stars for ease of use except for my wife's complaint: When cutting through larger stacks of paper you need to push the blade to the left as you push downward on the handle (a sticker on the base instructs you to do this). I find this no problem, but the Boss thinks it's an engineering design error. There is an easily accessible horizontal blade tension adjustment that can be increased if you find this an annoyance. A couple of cautions: 1) there is no blade guard so this is not a device to keep in a room accessible to children, 2) keep the spring guard in place as insurance against flying fragments if the rather robust spring ever fails.

Solid, Well-Made and Accurate Paper Cutter
This paper trimmer is made well with a wood base and heavy-duty cutting arm. It is just what I expected and more. I need to have an accurate cutter for trimming my quality art prints, and this does the job in spades. I am so glad I went with this Swingline Paper Cutter. Well worth the money and it should last me a lifetime of use.

Works as designed.
Our old paper cutter has worked fine for 30 years, but decided to purchase a new one. We cut industrial paper towels that is thicker than a sheet paper. We can cut about 5 or so at one time. After reviewing several other cutters, we are pleased by the performance of this one.
