Excellent sharpener for soft colouring pencils. Very gentle on the pencils.
Excellent sharpener for my soft prismacolor pencils. Very gentle on the pencil and you can select the point length. Haven't had a single breakage while sharpening using this on settings 1 & 2. It is bigger than a standard pencil sharpener, and made of quite thin plastic - so I'm not sure how durable it will be long term, and it's expensive for a pencil sharpener (I guess this is because it's imported from Japan). The shavings catching part is quite small and needs frequent emptying, and the little cover for this seems extremely flimsy. Having said that, it's really easy to use and does a very good sharpening job. If you are having trouble with core breakage when sharpening coloured pencils, this is the one to use to avoid this.

Great even on triangular pencils!
Absolutely love this pencil sharpener, much less waste than with any other sharpener. Point is quick, sturdy and a delight to use on my soft faber castell coloured pencils. Not broken any, and so little waste compared to my manual helical sharpener by M+R. All my pencils are triangular and it has no problem at all with them! It's so easy to use, to a point so quick even I have no trouble and I have RA with pain and deformity to my hands. Seriously impressed....game changer! Thank you ☺️

Great gadget
This little pencil sharpener is a really great tool. Pleasant to use, sharpens smoothly and is easy to empty and allows you to choose the amount of point you want for your pencil (1 - 5). Good value for money. Would recommend.

It works quite well
Good: - Nice little gadget that does what it claims. - Easy to hold. Not so good: - Outer packaging was flimsy, actual product packaging did not survive the long journey. - Instructions only in Japanese (then again it's a pencil sharpener, and if you need instructions you have more pressing problems). - Shavings container could be bigger, but then it probably wouldn't be this easy to hold. Definitely recommended.

Great adjustable sharpener. Short to medium length sharpening in five steps. does not do the long and thin sharpening that some artists like. lead is sharpened smooth no rakes or chunks missing. This has become my go to sharpener. Easy to adjust rotary setting, emptying is ok and construction is solid

Less than robust. Hard to trace a replacement blade. Dubious value of the adjustable feature.
This is a lightweight plastic pencil sharpener made by Kutsuwa Japan. My version is transparent. It will fit in the palm of the hand but it is a lot bigger than normal simple pencil sharpeners because of the adjusting mechanism and the storage compartment. It will store the shavings of 3 or 4 pencils before they become compacted and interfere with the adjusting mechanism. Part of the casing on one side will slide off to permit emptying. Pencil sharpeners which can store shavings are always welcome. Inside the casing is mounted a larger than normal pencil sharpener. The adjustability is the selling point. This is managed via a dial on one side which has 5 settings and a closed setting which secures the shavings within. The dial can be seen to move the sharpening component up or down which I guess changes the angle at which the pencil is inserted. This influences the angle and extent of the cut. On setting 1 it produces a very short, very stubby point which is of very little use. On setting 5 it produces a decent point which is a bit longer than a standard sharpener would produce but this is nowhere near to what is produced by a true long-point sharpener such as the excellent German KUM range. Because the sharpening component is designed to move it does not feel as secure in use as a fixed sharpening component. It is just a larger than normal pencil sharpener mounted inside the case. The device seems less than robust, I would say. My main immediate reservation arises from the blade which is twice as long as any blade I have seen. I therefore do wonder how a replacement might be obtained, especially outside Japan, once the blade is blunt. Normal blades will be far too short. There is no trace of replacement blades being available via Amazon. After a few weeks of use the ‘closed’ setting no longer fully seals the opening reliably. Overall, and after some use, I conclude that the adjustable feature of this sharpener is little more than a gimmick with hardly any practical value; the probable difficulty of tracing a replacement blade is a concern. I would find it difficult to recommend this sharpener – there are many far better pencil sharpeners on the market.

Flimsy plastic
The sharpener is great but the plastic is too flimsy and it fell apart after a while. Cannot put it back together either.

Best sharpener Ever!! ❤️
This excellent sharpener has 5 different sharpening angles to suit different pencil types. Prismacolor pencils have very soft cores which are great for blending but are better sharpened at a wider angle because they tend to break easily if the point is too long. I use angle #1 for them. For harder pencils like the standard HB, I use angle #5 for a nice long point. It’s easy to select the required angle using the wheel and all give a sharp point. I can’t quite believe I’ve written an ode to a pencil sharpener 😂
