This item was recommended by my Niece as she had one for her baby and it really comforts the baby. I bought this for my Granddaughter who is having her baby soon and she can't wait to try it out.

Lovely item, bigger than I expected too

We were given one of these when our son was little, and initially I was a bit sceptical. It doesn't look great and it makes whale noises which as far as I know is the sound of whales advertising how well hung they are and how happy they would make any passing lady whales. The other noises do sound a bit tinny because of the size of the speaker and the fact it's muffled by a sheep. How wrong we were! It works like a charm. The velcro straps fix it to a cot or stroller and they're very sturdy. The batteries last for ages (4 months so far and still going) and there is a handy timer switch and volume switch. As soon as it goes on, our baby seems to calm down and if it doesn't send him to sleep, it means there's something really wrong. It helps us when we're travelling as it makes strange places more familiar. He was 3 months old when we got it and I wish we'd had it from birth. It just gives him enough space to calm himself down and go to sleep. We don't use the whale noises setting.

Having noticed how it settled my 2 week old to ssshhhh in her ear, I started thinking about white noise. I tried it initially on my phone with an app and it worked! If she is in the right sleepy zone ie not overtired then this works when I put my daughter down awake. It does look a bit strange as there is a large plastic sound box sticking out of the back of the sheep, but from the front it looks like a pretty good quality little cuddly sheep. I would recommend trying white noise first to see if it'll work for your little one, the rain works best for us as it's a constant noise. Quite annoying having in on in the background for the adults though!

This is one of those products that actually works! We use it every day to get our baby off to sleep (He prefers the ocean sound out of the 4 choices). Whilst it isn't always instant, I am totally convinced this product helps massively. It's main effect is for the baby to concentrate on the noise and nothing else - that way, calming down and drifting off. It also cuts out all other noises which might disturb the baby prior to dropping off. We've had it 4 mths and haven't had to change the batteries yet either. More people should know about this product!! - every mother leaving hospital should be issued one!

A nice quality teddy, with good sound options but the length of time before shut off is way too short, stopping mid nap let alone night sleep, and it isn't loud enough. It cuts out suddenly and this wakes my baby.
