Slayer By Name & Nature
With a name like Root Slayer you expect big things and this did not disappoint!This looks like it was shaped by the devil himself and boy is it effective. It cuts through dirt as well as a normal shovel but has the added bonus of tearing through roots just as well.So easy to use. Built very well. Weighty for that extra oomph. Its also sharp as hell!Could not recommend this enough for garden work. Even the macho groundswork guy working on our extension squealed like a little girl and said "ooooh, a root slayer, I need a go with that".

This is awesome. A beast of a spade.
Best spade I have ever purchased -by a long way. I got the "big dog" version of this spade, with the all steel shaft -a sturdy and enormous beast of a tool - as I had some big shrubs to dig out and some brambles. Worked better than any previous spade and, even although I am not the strongest person, I could lever out some large shrubs and cut through bramble roots and some old tree roots easily enough. I also removed turf with it, and re-dug loads of compost into the worn out soil, and deep-planted some roses out to make a new rose bed, all the better for using this excellent spade. Heavy to carry around, let alone use in anger, so my arms got a heck of a work out, but this spade is invaluable in my garden now. totally recommended.

Got this for my grandson to dig up my huge pampas grass, he made short work of it, better than regular spade, cut through toughest roots and well worth the money, very impressed!

Root slaying satisfaction
I never thought I would be so satisfied with the sound of cutting through roots, the root slayer makes the job of clearing an area that was covered in Bush’s a lot easier, there is a knack of using the saw like sides on the thicker roots but it gets the job done, putting my full weight on the slayer to prise up the main root ball was worrying after several spade handles have snapped, but the slayer handles it, one of the best tools I have purchased.

The best garden tool ever
We have had the Root Slayer for a year now and it has been invaluable tool in fighting the dreaded bamboo incursions. Moving shrubs and larger plants used to be a chore with conventional spades but the root slayer makes short work of them. It seems indestructible and is the best garden tool in the potting shed. The design is outstanding for it's task and the round handle although strange at first sight, turns out to be an inspired feature that gives you different hand holds as you work under stubborn roots. After a years heavy use it's still as good as new , so the quality of the materials used is as good as the design. It is now our "go to" spade for any digging at all because it is so good.
