Using this item worked well, if you have any item that uses Scart cables to connect to a TV, then this item would be of use. I have an Xbox that I wanted to connect to a new TV with HDMI connections, so I used one of the USB ports on the back to power this device, second I took the scart cable from my Xbox and connected it to the converter, then I connected the HDMI cable from the converter to the HDMI switch I have, another HDMI cable runs from the switch to the TV. Then had to work out how to use the HDMI switch to get the right screen, then realized I had to put the converter into 720P mode as it has a 1080P mode also! And then turned on the Xbox and had a clear screen and great sound! Very pleased with this as it was the first time I have attempted this but did some research on what connection my item used, then looked at what ports on the TV were available to find out what I might need to make this work as I didn't want to throw out my Xbox. Glad that sometimes our tech moves backwards a bit! Thumbs up!!

Works as expected but at slightly lower quality
Arrived early, simple set up/installation, only issue found is the quality of images is reduced - appearing slightly fuzzy but not unbearably so, it's fuzzy in the way that pictures and text are slightly 'soft' instead of sharp on the screen so text is still readable - and changing the resolution doesn't seem to make much difference. I use this product to play my scart cabled consoles on my TV that only has HDMI and it's well worth the price for the quality - it could just be the older consoles causing the issue because the consoles weren't built for newer TV's. Overall it's great and fulfils it's purpose.

Too much like hard work!
Bought this and an hdmi cable for my mother-in-law, who is up in Scotland, to try & rig upto her tv & Humax.But she says it doesn't do the job, unfortunately, plus it is too much of a rigmarole for her to send back for a refund, so she's stuck with it.The annoying thing with these connectors, is the lack of clarity in trying to determine which one is suitable.Amazon need to work on this aswell mind.

Life saver
Perfect can use my old sky box on my smart tv ...somethings shud never be amputated and the sky remote is one of them converts sky SCART to hdmi cable obviously quality is not hdmi but most programmes are more than acceptable and you can access programme details quicker than on the smart tv well packaged and very quick service

Bought on advisement, but wrong connection
Was advised to buy this by salesman in shop when we were buying a smart tv. It was to link DVD player to new tv. Unfortunately it did not work as needed a different end. So will have to think about buying a new DVD player!!

Does link DVD players with SCART to HDMI but there is definite stutter to the picture and the pixilation is not great. It also requires an external power source which though alluded to in the product description is not made totally clear what plug/voltage would be required. In the end I opted for another cabling device to link old and new, not involving SCART or HDMI. This does mean that the full screen is not used and there is some compression of the image but my children found this form of viewing more acceptable, thus returning the product.

it worked
We bought a new television that had NO SCART FITTINGS so were unable to connect out VCR and DVD, these little boxes of trick did the job and we are now able to watch all of out saved memories again.

gave a good picture but no sound at all
It didn't work for me, gave a good picture but no sound at all. I tried this with another DVD player and different leads which I knew were working so know it was the unit itself. Had to return it, but Amazon returns were great, no fuss.
