Rust-Block by Evapo-Rust, Super Safe, Non-Toxic, Biodegradable, Keeps Metal Rust Free for Up to 12 months, 12oz Aerosol Spray

I sanded and sharpened my Stanley #4 plane iron, and rinsed it with warm water. I then sprayed Rust-Block on both surfaces and allowed it to dry. I stored the iron away in a dry place, and as you can see from the picture, there's ZERO rust. However, I recommend it only for protection against rust while waiting for spray paint or other types of finishing. As soon as you have a little moisture (even your sweat) on the surface, you've essentially removed the layer of protection and rust will start building up really fast.

If you order this at midnight after working 70-hours a week for months you might miss the fine print just like I did. I was wondering why the product didn’t remove the rust as well as the little bottle I had previously used as a test. Thought it might be a different concentration. Never thought I bought the wrong product. Spent hours soaking, removed some of the rust with brushes and sandpaper. Finally gave up and just painted as-is with rust. My garden flamingo project ended up costing over $150 and still not rust-free - when I probably could’ve bought a new one for $200. And I would’ve saved hours of free time of which I have so few. The product is probably great at what it’s meant to do, thus the 5 stars. I’m not penalizing the company for my mistake. Probably good idea to wear gloves but I didn’t and my hands are fine. If the manufacturer is reading this, you may want to use a different color on the bucket and label as it’s virtually identical to the rust remover product.

Works as advertised. Prevents flash rusting.
