I used a few of these on known nest area, still active ants after a few days, replaced with new but still activity. Perhaps I was expecting to much too quickly.

We purchased these last year and again this year as they do work after a few days.

Been in our apartment for little more than 2 years and never had ants showing up. Our hygiene is pretty much spot on, still some ants opted to set up camp in our kitchen. We cleaned with vinegar and bleach, sealed the place they were coming out of with silicone, tape -- no joy.Grabbed this after reading the reviews, and at the start the ants were just going their usual way and actually getting around the bait station, but once they found it they went into the well-documented feeding frenzy other reviews mention. A couple things to facilitate this situation:1. CLEAN with dish soap the trail the ants follow. The little stinkers use (invisible) pheromones to tell other ants which way to go. Once you clean the trail they followed, they'll start looking for new food sources in the vicinity.2. REMOVE any other food from a ~2m radius of the area where you placed the bait. The bait must be the only food sources the ants find.3. DON'T KILL any ant in the meantime. This just wards them off that something bad's gonna happen if they go a certain way. RESIST the urge of smashing them, let them crawl wherever they please. This is PARAMOUNT. Ants are extremely intelligent.3. WAIT patiently. They seem to be more active in the evening. They ignored the bait for all the morning/afternoon but I noticed huge traffic around dinner time at ~7 PM. If you've got cats, make sure they're well clear of the ant trail. Ours went ballistic at seeing the little thingies moving up and down and were getting ready to pounce. You don't wanna poison your feline companion by having them eat the poisoned ants, do you?4. ISOLATE the area when you go to sleep. Take out your pets/kids/etc. Leave the ants do their job.5. CLEAN UP when you wake up in the morning. I personally found a graveyard of dead ants in the morning. Ants are so intelligent they actually kick out their dead from the nest. Scoop the carcasses up with your vacuum. Again, if they see dead ants next time they go out, they might notice something's up.So far, this solved the issue overnight. There was no longer out-of-nest activity in the 48h after the first deaths, so the trap definitely does what it says on the tin. Depending on the size of the nest, it'll be destroyed within 1-3 weeks. I'm pretty sure mine was small since it's been DEAD QUIET since the first wave of destruction wrought by the bait. "Dead" quiet... get it?Get this, you won't regret your purchase.

Last year I was horrified to find that I had an army of ants coming in via the front door to the kitchen to get to my cat's wet food. I tried hoovering and cleaning regularly and even if she hadn't finished the food, removing it so none was left down for too long. But once the ants had determined the kitchen was of interest to them they kept coming despite all this.In my desperation to not have wildlife traipsing into the house, I bought this product and put 1 by the front door where there seemed to be a nest (which I also poured boiling water into). Annoyingly it rained soon after and these are not meant to get wet, but despite this it worked. The numbers of ants started to dwindle and within a week or so I stopped seeing them inside.It would be better if there could be an additional cover or box to protect the traps from the rain, but the holes are fairly small and the rain didn't seem to stop mine from working. I only used one out of the whole pack so I would say these are good value for money and I have plenty left if the cat food ninjas decide to come back this summer.

After having hard floors laid downstairs in my house last autumn, I had started to notice ants in the kitchen and hall. Not wanting to throw ant powder around the inside of my home, this seemed like a decent proposition. I placed one in the kitchen and one near the front door as I wasn't entirely sure where they were getting in, but they had been seen in both places. I didn't have long to wait. The one in the kitchen didn't prove too popular but the one by the front door drew a crowd! Within hours there were around 30 ants all over and around this thing, clearly whatever is in it is VERY attractive to ants! It was both disgusting yet fascinating to watch.Whilst all this was interesting I was of course hoping that after they had swarmed all over it, they would b*gger off. Permanently.The next day there was not a single ant to be seen, neither in the kitchen nor in the hall. I left the bait stations down for 3 weeks just in case of any stragglers but in that time I did not see a single solitary ant, they have just disappeared. I have a stock of these now and if this turns out to be a seasonal thing, I'll just throw one of these down by the front door and let it do it's magic. Excellent product and so simple and mess free. Highly recommended.

This version has three holes located at the top covered by a removable sticky label. I used 8 of these around the garden and the ants just ignored them.The old version with 4 plastic break off tabs on the sides used to work very well but these are useless

Unbelievable. I've had ants running riot in my kitchen for months despite lining the entire area with powder. Since the moment I snapped the little plastic tags off of one of these and put it next to the oven I haven't seen a single ant. It's been two months, they've literally disappeared.Four stars because the pack I ordered from Amazon didn't arrive but the product itself is incredible.
