Better than what I expected
I purchased this product with cautious optimism, and have been pleasantly surprised. It came in a beautifully packaged LENOX box. No damage, very nice weight to each piece of flatware, and they cleaned seamlessly in the dishwasher.Explicit instructions for appropriate care were included from LENOX on a included card. It states that nothing with any type of acidity should touch the flatware. I can’t help but wonder if that’s why other people have had issues with rust? Some dishwasher detergents do have citrusy scents added, or other harsh chemicals that can dull or make their particular product show signs of rust. It also suggests rinsing before loading your flatware in the dishwasher.I’m extremely happy with my purchase/product and quality that LENOX is known forWith that being said, it is stamped “Vietnam” on each piece along with the Lenox name. Each piece is sturdy and marked 18/10 .

Beautiful flatware - might be too fancy for us
Lots to say about the Lenox Alcott 89 piece set of flatware. I was looking for a nice set for 12 to replace my great grandmother's set of 6 + odds and ends collected over the years. My great grandmother's set was great but it wasn't enough and the forks only had 3 tines, which wasn't everyone's preference. The Lenox Alcott are very shiny, which is different for me. I've only been accustomed to using matte flatware. But the shiny feature only makes them seem more fancy, maybe a little too fancy for me, but I'll get over it.The main reason I chose this set was because they came with 12 sporks! We use them almost every day. Did we NEED them? Probably not. But I love that we have them! There's suggestions enclosed on how to wash the flatware and since I've read hundreds of reviews about rust on stainless steel flatware, I chose to switch the dishwasher detergent we used, just to be safe. We actually did notice some rust on our old knives and assumed it was from the citrus oils in our former detergent. We never saw rust on any other piece of flatware, so I think the knives must not have been 18/10 stainless steel. But I can't be sure. The reason I mention this is because almost all the new Lenox flatware has 18/10 stamped on the back... all except the knives. That worries me. If the knives aren't 18/10, that would be disappointing. But if they are 18/10, then why don't they have an 18/10 stamp? I really can't be sure, so I've taken extra precautions and got rid of any dish washing detergent that contains citrus.Size is always a big concern. I took a bunch of pictures to compare sizes of the forks and spoons. There's 2 sizes of each. The large fork is significantly larger than the forks we've been accustomed to using. In fact, the small forks are closer in size to our old forks. So I use the small forks and my husband uses the giant forks. Both are used, so I'm happy. The spoons, however, are comparable to our old set. The knives in our old set were different from any knife I've seen in any set online. I loved them, even though they had tiny spots of rust. I knew I wasn't going to find something like that, but I made my peace with it. That being said, I do like the Lenox knives. There's nothing bad about them. The handle is solid, that's a plus. They do taper from the base of the handle to the end of the knife, which is weird to me. But I can't say whether that's a bad thing, at this time.Last thing I will mention is the weight. I'm no expert, but I feel like they're a very good weight, heavier than most. They feel really balanced. Sometimes, when traveling with the flatware on a plate, it'll fall, but that could also be placement of the flatware or clumsiness. There's also been plenty of times that the flatware stayed on the plate or bowl, in transit.I think that's all to be said. There's plenty of pictures for reference. I gave 5 stars because they really are wonderful. I've dropped them and they've never marked up. I've washed them a bunch of times and they still look perfect, brand new. Oh, and each utensil was delivered in individual plastic sleeves. So they were well protected in transit.

Beautiful set but not in LENOX manufacturer package
The Flatware set was beautiful. However, I purchased to give as a gift and it did not come in the Lenox Manufacturer Box. It came in a plain cardboard box that did not seem like a GIFT. I have included pictures of how it arrived as well as the 3rd picture of another set I had to purchase at Macy's so that I had a giftable item.

Beautiful!
I liked almost everything about this service. It is beautiful, comfortable, and comes with 12 place settings. This is my only complaint - I wanted another smaller set, but could only order in 12piece place setting.

HUGE!!
Beautiful flatware, but we returned it......sure do wish the size of each piece was listed, as some brands do, as it would have prevented an unnecessary purchase and then a return. These look like they are made for giants to use.....the dessert fork is larger and longer than my current dinner forks. Their dinner fork might work as a pitchfork...lol!Way too big for our taste!

Replaced my Oneida
I had a huge set of Oneida silverware but my grandson decided that it was a good idea to take a few pieces to work now and then. Needless to say I ended up with a missing fork &/or salad fork here and there. Thankfully, I bought my daughter the same pattern so when I purchased this set, I was able to give my Oneida to her. The only drawback I'm experiencing is being unable to find additional serving pieces to add to this set. I miss the big, round soup spoons, the steak and butter knives and the lg soup ladle, but now my daughter is enjoying these additions to her stockpile. This set is much heavier and sturdier than my Oneida pieces. And I've threatened my grandson with bodily harm if he leaves the house with so much as a spoon. I recommend this silverware to friends and I'd definitely buy these again.

Bonito set

Huge failure
I did my homework before I purchased any flatware. Lenox has an excellent reputation for quality. Not so with my set. First time in the dishwasher my butter knives and teaspoons came out seriously pitted and marked. I am discussted and very angry that I have to wash my silverware by hand and dry them right away so that they look decent on my table.

They will do for everyday use
The quality is good and the finish is definitely better quality. The size was on the smaller scale and what I'd use for a luncheon rather than dinner. I don't particularly like how they feel in my hand and wish the backs were solid.
