These lights have come a LONG way
In the past I have had numerous Viparspectra lights and they have always been a very high quality light. With the advancements in technology these lights just keep getting better and better.Previously they were relatively thick, 2-3", which isn't necessarily a bad thing but they would take up space at the top of your grow area. If you are limited on space that could be seen as a downside. They had some exhaust fans on them as well so they made some noise while they were operating. These new ones are ultra quiet and ultra thin. The dimmer and driver do stick out of the top but it is very manageable for small spaces. I start pepper plants in the winter in this small grow box so they can already have a jump on the season when they go outside. This light does very well for the vegetative phase. I haven't used it to flower anything but it does have some red lights on the panel to give it more of a full spectrum. Some heat does radiate from the panel and driver especially if you're using it at 100% but its nothing like the old metal halide lights used to do. It gets warm/hot to the touch but not so much that Im worried about it starting a fire or anything like that. Lastly, the light is BRIGHT. I rarely use it at 100% because of how bright it is. Since I have a small space that Im growing in I would start to see signs of light burning on the pepper plants because of how bright and intense this light is.My space is 2' wide x 4' tall x about 13" deep. The 1 light covers all of that space with no issues whatsoever. It's really nice that it is dimmable, but even at the lowest setting it still gives off a decent amount of light. I don't know the exact size space that this will cover but I would believe the specs listed on the product page.Overall this is a high quality light at a very affordable price. I can't say enough good things about it. You won't be disappointed with it if you do choose to buy it.

Good Buy
I usually don’t leave a review unless I really feel an item deserves it, and this does. I had no expectations, I just needed a light that was inexpensive and functioned. The El Cheapo I purchased in the past worked great, and when it was time to purchase another one suddenly El Cheapo wasn’t cheap anymore, so I decided to try this one instead, and let me tell you I’m glad I did it works great. First off it’s built really sturdy, all of the LEDS are bonded to a solid piece of aluminum that is like an 1/8” thick. All of the electronic components are bonded directly to the back of the thick aluminum plate, I’m assuming the thick plate is acting as a heat sink, and the entire thing is barely warm, after being on for around 10 hours. Full spectrum LEDS give off a bright and powerful light, that was way too much for my little plant so I just dimmed it down….oh did I forget to mention it’s dimmable with what seems to be a quality built dimmer. The light is great for what it is and the price, but be aware this is not a huge light, it’s good for maybe a 2x2 ft area at most, the light itself is like 10x11 inches in size. Oh also, one last thing, I have an ePAR meter which can tell me PPFD and DLI into an extended range, and I was easily measuring 1200 PPFD, that was about six inches from the light, my plant doesn’t need that, and it’s too close, but it can do it, so for the price, build quality, and confirmed function, if you need a powerful little light this is it.

Love Viparspectra
Bought two p1000s from vipra about 3 years ago for about 70 bucks each after finding them on amazon then watching a review about them on YouTube on a channel called Migro. Anyway their great lights and its gonna be hard for you to find a better light for less. Not saying their not out there and becoming more avaliable by the week but I can personally tell you viparspectra has earned my trust and loyalty. When I saw this light for only 59$ with a 20$ discount I jumped on it knowing what I do about my p1000s. This light is exactly the same wattage but I believe has the upgraded Samsung diodes and I payed less for it so I couldn't be happier really. I'd say it seems slightly brighter then my p1000s but not by much if it is. Alot more basic but of a build but as long as the performance is the same or better I ok with saving the money that's why I'm here to begin with. It doesn't have daisy chain capabilities but neither did my p1000s I'm not to stressed about turning them each up manually a couple times here and there. Not sure why there was a star rating for a Timer but I didn't see a timer or a setting for one nore was there one advertised with the light or built into the light that I saw so I'm pretty sure that's a mistake so I put 1 star for that reason. I run my lights on a timer so they go to 100% and stay there pretty much 100% of the time and the timer outlet takes care of the rest. Packaging was secure and nice just like it was when I bought my other lights. Also seems like they listened to their customers and shortened the hanging cables so that you can hang lights as high as possible if needed. If you're on the fence about this light I'm telling you now you won't regret it. It's a no Brainer if you know how good this brand is.

Plants Love It
Ive had a dwarf Cavendish banana plant for about 3 and a half years now. I had her under an older model for 90% of its life. Just recently, I decided it was time for a replacement. My old light was purple and this new light blew it away with the beauty of the lights tone. Now finally after a few months being in its new pot and light, Voila, bananas !! The old light was the same brand and works just fine after all that time. I simply use it for the lower plants now. Great brand for price to performance ratio. Solid harness comes with it, its very light in weight. Nice design. Overall I have no complaints. I use this in my living room btw.
