Minky X Wing Airer

I use a lot of Minky products and they've all been quality. Recently we bought a couple of clothes airers from Home Bargains and they've been really poor. The legs were easily broke and the build quality was generally poor. I've lost count of the amount of times we've bought these clothes airers and they've just crumpled. My partner thought I was crazy paying £29.99 for a clothes airer, but you get what you pay for. This airer by Minky is of exceptional build quality, it's sturdy and has a number of different ways you can erect the airer in order to dry clothes. It even has a flat drying area for delicate clothes or items. It has 2 very nice clamp kind of features for drying socks and the corners flip out so you can hang out underwear (if that's what you like to do) or other items. I've only received this today, but I'm really impressed so far and I can honestly find nothing negative to say about it. It's worth the money and the amount of clothes you can dry compared to a normal airer is amazing. Just a point to note that the image displayed showed the airer with wheels, but the airer that I received didn't have wheels, but I prefer that anyway.

I purchased this as a replacement, as the one I'd had for over 10 years had finally given up. If this one lasts as long as the other, (which, by the looks of it, probably will), I'll be very happy. Its very strong and feels solid when you open it which, is very easy to do. All you have to do is, take hold of the 2 centre uprights, and push outwards; its that easy. The feet come separately in the box, but are very easily attached to the base of the legs, and have wheels for easy movement. The overall drying area is very big, with 8 sets of drying rails, that have many drying bars, that can hold a lot of weight. In addition to this, it has a thick plastic, very strong quality folding mesh square in the centre, which is great for drying delicate items, such as: woolen cardigans, good quality clothing, that have to be laid flat in order to dry without shrinking. Bit heavy but steady product

I'm impressed with this clothes horse or drier, it is sturdy and folds easily. But the reason I will like it most is that I want to use it to dry many wool sweaters at a time. After handwashing and rolling in a big towel to remove most of the water, I can lay them on the bars or net below. The net below is not flimsy but quite thick and sturdy. I plan to use the other bottom bars to rig up more mesh of my own, to dry more sweaters. You can also lay bamboo canes across the bars on top to give you move level options for drying these kind of things. Hope this helps anyone thinking of buying, I found it worth the money. And it's a UK company!

The good - solid and collapses easily. It comes with slot in castors which we haven’t used The neutral to good - the rungs are much closer than any drier we’ve had before. Very good for small items like socks to fit lots in. For bigger, wider items it can be worth hanging over two rungs which reduces capacity back to normal levels but improves air flow Bad - nothing yet.

I have other minky Aires’s which are perhaps higher and narrower but outside they were simply blowing over in the wind. This is great. It’s really sturdy, doesn’t blow over and has a lot of space on it. Even with clothes on it can be folded to bring inside which is so handy when it starts to drizzle. The shelf on the bottom I initially thought would be a bit useless but I tend to put clothes on there when fresh out of the machine whilst I’m hanging up. I’ve also used it for drying shoes on (young kids). I’ve had it around 6 months and it’s still working well, no issues or problems with it. My only regret is not getting one sooner.

I bought this to replace my old clothes dryer which had wings that you fixed between the bars. These sometimes collapsed when knocked or if you tried to reposition the dryer. This one is so much better, it has lots more drying space and seems much sturdier, it folds up neatly and I am able to wheel it straight into my store cupboard thanks to the wheels which you can fix if wanted, It unfolds so easily like a concertina and I can load all my wet washing onto it straight from the machine and then wheel it into the position I choose. There's no collapsing of wings, it can be moved easily and holds a lot of washing. I do have a large laundry room but this would work in smaller spaces too as it can be moved around easily. I would recommend this dryer.

I ordered this Minky airer as I had been very pleased with a previous purchase of a Minky Airer and needed a second one. Unfortunately, the one I received was a much lighter weight and inferior product. The design is almost identical but lacks the 4 corner feet and has a metal finish rather than the white paint finish of my previous purchase. The item is also less stable than my original Minky airer. Also the two upper plastic hinges are less robust. To be honest, I'm not sure if this has been a design change by MINKY to reduce costs, or perhaps that there are two distinct models available. Design is great and folds down to easily fit under bed etc. My advice is to avoid the lighter weight model and seek out the more sturdy product with the lighter blue plastic fittings even if it costs a little more. Unfortunately, its not easy to see the difference on website fotos which is the mistake I made. I will be replacing my most recent purchase as soon as I can locate a supplier. My last clothes drying rack often collapsed under weight of wet clothes and came apart easily, it was too much work to open and close it so we kept it open all the time totally defeating the purpose of having a collapsable drying rack. We finally decided to upgrade our lives and came upon this Minky model which, thus far (about a month) is absolutely great. We live in a small apartment and we do laundry multiple times per week, we only machine dry for ten minutes and then hang the wash load on this rack. It is incredibly easy to open, and you can choose how you want the arms/wings to be positioned (if you have less space, you may want them at an angle, more and you can put them flat.) I recommend buying the one with the most drying space. There are some neat extra features i.e. sweater drying rack (which can be used for anything actually) retractable arms at all four corners which allow for additional three or more hangars in addition to the three spaces on the rack itself, very handy (just be careful to fold them back when you are collapsing the rack, I had a run in with one I didn't notice was still open!) There is a sock hanging thingie that I used once but I haven't since, it's just as easy to drape socks over one of the Roda, but nice to have this option if you are more patient than I am. It collapses in seconds and while I saw another reviewer say that she/he couldn't store it since it didn't have rubber legs to stand upright, I have honestly not had this issue, I simply lean it against a wall at a very slight angle and it stays put. It takes up far less room than my last one but handles as many if not more clothes and is very sturdy. In summary, I am not one who enjoys doing laundry so I want to get the chore done quickly, with this rack I'm in and out in no time and can move on to other important chores like writing too long Amazon reviews! This Minky drying rack is a great addition to my little cleaning team as it opens up in a variety of shapes that make great use of the small space I have allotted for it in the bathroom. I can place it in the tub and use it with the "wings" either up or down depending on the size of the load. Multiple ways to configure it also makes it easy to hide the whole works behind the shower curtain if company is coming. Very well designed and executed: comes fully assembled = no rungs falling apart every time! The spaces between the rungs are pretty generous, giving good air flow for quicker drying. The width works great for my XL tee shirts without bunching them up. Easy to adjust the arms into the various positions, very similar to how many poolside lounge chairs work. Sturdy metal with quality plastic accents, feels substantial. Has a one year warranty and I like that the manufacturer puts their customer service telephone number right here in the product listing. This is one of those few and far between purchases that I don't have a single quibble to report. I've seen similar styles priced at about twice as much and some that are cheaper but with Minky's first rate design and solid/quality build I feel definitely feel got my money's worth.
