Set includes two buffing compound bars, each roughly the size of a bic lighter in a protective case that fits perfectly and will keep them out of the elements. Tested the compound on a Ken Onion worksharp with a leather strop belt (a worn out fine compound sanding belt will work fine for this as well, dont throw them away). It polished the edges of my knives in 8cr13MOV, VG-10, and AUS-8 all to a MIRROR SHINE and sharp enough to shave with. Hair popping sharp. The main reason im leaving this review is Emma. She packaged the product and left a HAND WRITTEN letter to me asking me to review the product. Ive spent tens of thousands of dollars on amazon on products ranging from a few dollars to well over a grand, never ONCE got a hand written letter from a small business owner thanking me for purchasing a product. I wish Emma and her company all the best of luck in the world, and I hope anyone who sees this review will factor in customer appreciation before considering simply price. I received my shipment of buffing compound today, and had to try it out almost immediately. My primary use is to restore the blades on old and tarnished pocket knives, as well as stropping the edges for sharpness. This compound is rated at 3000 grit, and it did a wonderful job of removing tarnish from blades that were more that 50 years old and in poor condition. I touched the compound to a cotton buffing wheel on my grinder and got great results with minimal effort. There was no clouding or streaking on the blades, which is perfect. The personal note from the person who packed the order was a very nice touch (Emma). I also waxed a leather strop strap and got very good results when honing the edge of the blade. This is a definite improvement from using Case paste! I highly recommend, and the price is very fair.

Good. but I prefer diamond compound it doesn’t load up the strop as much.

Great price, and works well. I used a lighter to apply a thicker coat given its wax, but again hot wax so do be careful! It works well as a polishing compound, if youre trying to acheive a mirror edge it can definitely polish it, granted youve worked the edge to a point in which it can be polished. Overall id recommend this product.

Comes in a tight package, with clear instructions on how to use and care for. It’s a perfect size to cover most strops in one pass, with a firm consistency so applying it is smooth and easy. A great value and it works.

Very good product but the description in product specs says it’s abrasives are 7 micron/3-4000 grit and later on it states it’s .5 microns/ 50-60,000 grit. Which is it please? I know it gets my knives so sharp I’m afraid to slash my knives through the air. I’m afraid I’ll accidentally split an atom and blow my damn self up.

Your mileage may vary, but mine arrived with a cracked plastic case. Since this stuff will dry up quickly, according to the instructions, it was a shame the package was damaged. I'll have to find another small plastic box to store it before I can unseal the wrapper.

The addition of this compound on a leather strop, completes the sharpening process, leaving a very sharp edge on my sport, pocket, and kitchen knives. I added this item to my purchase of the Work Sharp Professional Sharpening Kit.
