Gallant Wooden Balance boards are a great multipurpose tool that can help improve core strength, balance, and overall fitness. Whether you are just looking to feel more sure-footed in your daily routine, rehabbing from an injury, or looking to intensify your existing workout by engaging more muscles during common exercises, the balance board will produce results. Gallant wooden balance board has a flat surface with a non-slip top supported by a strong base that provides just enough instability to challenge your sense of balance and give your body a workout as you try to stay upright. Unlike other boards made of cheap plastic and inferior parts, ours features high-quality workmanship and attention to detail – from the secure anti-slip pads to the black screws. This is one piece of equipment that’s made to last! Use it absolutely anywhere with a dry, stable floor – at the gym or yoga studio, home, rehab clinic, or the office to coach your brain and body to be steady and comfortable while performing any posture or range of motion. Also effective in working and building up a wide range of muscles. Core muscle improvement is also a big gain with this board. Every time you experience a tilt or wobble, your core muscles will contract to help retain your upright position. Using the wobble board as a base for squats, lunges and press-ups will also introduce a dynamic element and give you a greater challenge – as well as better results. Made from robust wood with PP pivot with 40cm diameter - wide enough for two feet. Tilts and rotates 360°. Max. user weight 100kg.

Sound board - a bit more info might be helpful
I like the wood and the non slip aspect. It turns out that the pattern on the board is actually pretty helpful as if you go on you tube you realise that doing exercise on it involve controlling the tilt of the board in different directions, so having a clockface type marking is really helpful... Someone asked a question about whether the bottom of the board is a half-sphere of flattened off. Well, it's definitely not a half sphere - in fact there's a flattened off bit at the centre that's maybe 7mm across - hard to measure - the rest of it is a gentle curve that maybe part of a very large sphere. Looking at the wobble board bases available they all look pretty similar to me, so I don't know whether it's possible to get one with a much smaller central flat area - the smaller the central flat area, I guess the more challenging the board. It's maybe disappointing that none of those for sale appear to specify much about angle and curvature of the base so really hard to know what you're getting in terms of challenge - maybe the level of challenge comes from how you use it - dynamically vs initial static training and one legged vs two? Well I think if I were buying again I would ask a physio advice about it first to check out things like curvature and angle/height, however I think this is a good product that will last.

Cheap and effective solution to regain your balance
If your sense of balance is reducing this is a simple method to help regain your equilibrium. We have it in the kitchen and use it each time we are waiting for something to complete. We found trying to do it for extended periods does not work for us and you land up feeling disappointed. The secret seems to be to set your feet comfortably on the board and concentrate on trying to stay on it hands free. If after a few goes, you find you are totally failing, try modifying your feet position. This exercise board is very rewarding for even complete novices and is an easy way to improve your balance and improve your confidence about staying upright when walking - the reason I was told by my physiotherapist to get one in the first place. For its price, size and simplicity, it is a worthwhile investment.

Excellent product
I took a chance on this after noticing numerous others that were cheaper. Ultimately you get what you pay for and I can happily say this is excellent. I don't overdo it yet but from the simple exercises I do I'm already noticing the difference. My routine consists of (while holding onto 2 chairs) 50 times left and right, 50 times backwards and forwards, 25 circular rotations to the left, 25 circular rotations to the right, 50 left/right twists (Chubby Checker style) and then 2 minutes balancing. My back feels thoroughly exercised and my legs, particularly my calf muscles, are royally 'challenged'! And this from a guy who cycles 25 miles to work every week! Well worth the money. A great product from a great company. Happy to recommend.

Great wooden balance board - definitely recommend
This board is great. It engages many muscles very well including legs, tummy, back and bottom. When it arrived I thought it was impossible to use, 30 minutes later I was really feeling the benefits and enjoying myself, wasn't expecting to like it quite so much. I like this much better than rubber ones and would highly recommend.I was unsure about the wooden board as there are lots of plastic boards available and they looked easier to use, I am delighted I bought this one. I am quite unfit after chemo and my flat mate is very fit, he likes it just as much, this shows it doesn't matter your fitness level/ability, you just need a bit of determination to start with. The delivery was swift, although package was open when delivered but, that may be the delivery driver/company.

Quality product but slippery on wooden flooring
I bought this because of my ankle weakness from a few past sprains and not having previously received physio. It's a quality product and makes your ankle joints and muscles around work hard. Make sure to look up at least 3 you tube videos to get the most out of it. However, I have wooden flooring so it slips around a lot and so I have to place an old towel or mat below. The top black surface is anti slip - looks similar to fine sand piper, but as you can see from my picture, after just one use it already looks dirty. Although a good product, I'd probably have been just as happy with a cheaper plastic one.

Product, amazing. Delivery not so amazing
The product is amazing. Sturdy board and the grips are perfect for if you have socks, shoes or bare feet. The only thing I have to criticise is the delivery. It was chucked over my back gate in the pouring rain. Luckily when I opened it all was OK as it's pretty solid so had no dents and was wrapped in a plastic bag so didn't get too wet, however the box was soggy and like mush. So other than the delivery I have no problem 😊

Perfect for use at a standing work station or computer desk
I wanted a balance board for use with my standing work station. I'd had some experience of using one during circuit training classes. This is perfect. Secure on my wooden floor and with a grippy surface to secure feet and shoes stay firmly in place. It takes a bit of time to master the balancing but this is what helps the body's muscles to stay active. I can feel a difference in just a couple of days. There are some other good work out suggestions on YouTube for anyone looking to add variety into a home exercise programme.Recommended.

Great quality, good value
This is a really good quality product and excellent value for money. It is very solid, but not too heavy. The surface has a 'sand-paper' like texture which means you can stand on it in socks or bare feet or shoes. It rotates smoothly and feels very sturdy. I get back ache very quickly when standing, even for a few minutes, and this helps. I have also managed to play the violin while standing on it! Great for your core muscles and just makes standing up a bit more fun!
